the ride is reasonable no major problems, reasonably smooth , new tyres, straight chassis gaurantee by owner

The Army's used Jeeps have got be the best in Pakistan.
They do take care of their vehicle inventory very well. Their machines have to be in War Ready Condition, at all times, that means all the maintenance done properly and strictly.

Watching these Army jeep pics, remind me of the popular PTV show, Alpha Bravo Charlie, where an Army Officer, orders the new recruits to clean out the whole Battle Tank with the Toothbrush, for that new recruits punishment. The Jeeps on that show were also immaculately taken care of.

As you can also see, from that BJ jeep, where the owner is asking 590,000 for it, a bit too steep, but that Jeep has been taken care of well, maintenance wise, but if you look otherwise, it has got 260,000 km on it. Too much, for any vehicle.

Hi voyager well got a call from u today, well found ur nik and read this thread. if u really in to the bj40 that u saw at tarnol,u got to keep a few things in ur mind....as i have been thru the process will give u a brief outline on how much it will cost u to restore it ....
front and back hissey=approx...24 k and 28 k...
disc brakes= 10k..
powersteering= 11k....
full paint job...atleast 40 k..
brake line=4k
wiring kabli=5k
ac/heater/dash plus boxes= 40k.
soft top= 5k
seats front= 5k.
body panels are very expensive parts take ur breath away ..so do look in to the vehicle very closely ...if all is working fine and less amount of work is needed on it its worth 550k...go for it ..but most of the time these rides have older tubes and axles installed in them that was the case with mine which i had to replace with original 82 model ones...
i spent loads of money on mine but then again i made major changes to the ride..but i guarantee u it turns out to be a real head turner ...and is worth every penny ...
so best of luck do drop me a line when u are here in pak...

It was nice talking to U. Thanks for the info, I know re-storing a Jeep is always time consuming & when A Jeep Lover re-stores a jeep then the Project Budget always goes high.

There are always many things in my mind about Jeep but time is the main issue with me. Let C what comes next. But sure would love to test drive UR Jeep.

U R right about the Mitsu & BJs. I only quoted and referred the Army Auctioned jeeps not the Mitsu. or other Govt./ private agency Auctioned.

Ok here we go about Jeep, in any Jeep project Chassis is very important. If u R buying an auctioned Jeep which is not registered one then don’t forget the auctioned voucher. U will find few chassis (Cheap ones) in the market which don’t have auction voucher and they R not registered. Never buy these ones. Always buy newly auctioned Chassis with Voucher.

If U R interested in auctioned Jeep as I can C then follow the following steps:

In any Jeep (Auctioned one) there things are very important:

1) Chassis
2) Engine
3) Body Tub
4) Suspension/Diff/Axels
5) Gearbox

It will be the best if U fined Auctioned jeep, which has got these things working/workable. But this most will not be the case. Mostly Chassis and suspension/Diff/Axels R in good condition and in some cases the body is also in a condition that a good denting work can make it the best option.

In these Jeeps which I am uploaded the in the pics apart from engine and gearbox every thing is there. In few even engine and GB is also there. And there is no big difference in the price. U will be buying the Jeep as it is and then will be selling back to these guys the things which u think R not repairable or u want to go for some Kabuli stuff then U will sell those parts as scrap.

My advise for Jeep Lovers considering Jeep projects in near future will be buy the Jeep as it is, keep the Chassis, Suspension/Diff/Axels, Body Tub sale out the engine and the gear box if not in repairable condition.

Now UR last question the price of Body Tub, brother those ones are available from 20 to 30k.
