Vitz 1300cc overheating issue

Hi Everyone,

My Friend owns a 1300cc 2008 vitz,
Problem is , the car just overheated and stopped, we tried to start it but its starting and getting over heat again, some says gaskit gone, some mechanic says head work, some says its engine will be replaced finally,

Is there anyone who faced this kind of issue?, All Oils and coolants were replaced a week ago,
the radiator is empty when we opened it afterwords that hints about gaskit.

Any suggestions.

are there any sort of water leaks ?
is the car still overheating with filling up water?

Check for the leaks at first. Also do check the automatic fan is working with its proper speed & inspect the thermostat valve, is it working properly without jamming ? Head gaskit didn't ends up easily.
And to my experience 2008 vitz comes with 2SZ-FE engine.

yes its 2SZ, radiator is throwing back the water we try to insert,
i have to check the thermostat valve, is it possible to check it by myself?

instead of checking it, just replace it

changing head gas kit is not that big of an issue. usually toyota engines do not go away easily.

once head gas kit is replaced, check water reduction and thermostat valve in radiator for few days and than replace water with coolant.

gaskit is changed, just minor water reduction found, filled it to the level, running fine since then, rest of the things are working fine.
