Vitz 1st gen gear weakened

Dear friends,

Yesterday evening when I started my car after
A three four hour break , a strange sound like a broken bearing
Or something started comiNg from the gear.
On taking her for a checkup at mechanics, he diagnosed her with a weak gear.
The car was also giving big jerks when the gear changed. After that he said he has done bit of settings , but it won't last long and the problem won't go away unless the gear is changed.
But he advised me not to change the gear instead sell the car.

Now my question from you experts is that what is better , changing the gear or the car? If I change the gear , will the car be back to perfect ?

if its a broken bearing sound then its most probably your torque converter is done, driving more like this will end up in a completely dead transmission as fine metal particles of the torque convertor will slosh throughout the transmission.

selling the car is not a good solution, also you will not get your desired amount in that condition. vitz AT is cheap here in KHI you will get a good kabli one in 6k from sher shah.

6k sounds cheap i doubt though, i went through and found alot between 10-15k in shershah. depending on the warranty !
i dont know much about the condition of those gears, but i do trust the mechanic i went with.

and will changing the transmission get the car back to its original condition ?

buy transmission complete with Torque converter sometimes mechanics & yard guys CHEAT around to make extra cash. ensure that you change transmission filter & transmission oil when doing swap with damaged unit. car will run fine
