Vitz 2004 tapit issue

Dear members.,
hope you all must be fine., I am facing problem in my vitz which is:
when I start the car at morning it make some unusual sounds.
after putting in reverse gear it start vibrating a-lot and most of the time gets off.
same problem in Forward gear as well but dont get off.
after while when car maintains its temperature this vibration issue & getting off issue disparate.
i have talked with mechanic who is suggesting me to go for head work. its Ta-pits are jam & maybe values are faulty too.
he is asking for Rs: 13~15 K for all this work.
can anyone guide me to save my money & what is the actual problem (is mechnic is saying right or not)
& any good & expert mechanic available in Lahore?

ONE of the reasons it might be tappets. But dont go for the head rebuilt. your engine would get ustadified. its not required at all.

there is a procedure for adjusting the tappets and the required clearances are mentioned under the bonnet. You should get hold of the Toyota Engine Repair Manual for your Vitz Engine. You ll need valve buckets of different sizes depending upon the clearances of the tappets. these can be worked out by knowing the thickness / size of the current buckets for each of the valve, the clearance of each of the valve and the required clearance.

head rebuilt is only required when the clearance is too large to be adjusted by using any valve bucket.

(note: your engine may have provision of installation of shims instead of buckets. read the manual first)

as per mechanic not even 5mm blade is going through tappets.
can you please tell anyone who knows about what you said. going through manual will also take my half of hairs..

This does not mean that the tappets cannot be adjusted. the tappet adjustment should be measured down to .02 or .05 mm, whatever it is.

The procedure for tappent adjustment involves measuring accurately the clearance. Taking the cam shaft out and measuring the thickness of each tappet cover. then working out the right size of tappet cover

I have done it myself for corolla Altis 1.8 1zz-fe engine and was able to do it better than any mechanic and in front of the mechanic who was recommending head rebuilt. Even Toyota Rawal had suggested head rebuilt and had given an estimate of 114k Rs.

In rawalpindi i can recommend u 1-2 shops. or even can accompany u. in lahore i dont have any idea.

i would suggest find all ustaads jo ke "headon ka kaam kertay hain"

phir find that ustaad jo ke "valvon ki tikkiyan ya shimmein daal saktay hain". u ll get to the right person with the approach

Dear i went to one more Mechanic (ustad) for the said issue. he says valves of car are not working properly. he is also saying it cant be fixed without doing valves work.
asking 4000 for Kharadiya work & 3000 as a labor work. what you suggest?

For Toyota Vitz/ Passo 1KR-FE engine,
The recommended valve clearance, at operating temperature, is:
Intake 0.28mm
Exhaust 0.28mm to 0.36mm
