Hi Pakwheelers. I went to a mechanic on Jamsheed Road for tuning my Vitz. I bought Iridium tipped spark plugs for Rs 800 each. Is that a reasonable price?
Secondly, he took Rs 250 for tuning. He did nothing except changind the spark plugs. I asked him about the tuning and he said dat this is a modern car and doesnt need tuning. Was he right?

well u got plugs in very reasonable price must add as plugs for this variant of vitz cost 1200 1300 do check if thy r like oem 1s denso sk20 like code as they hav longer thread area then normal plugs.regarding tunning throttle body must hav been cleaned.engine oil n transmision oil change if it has not been done in due done n also fuel filter swap.all these things r usualy done whn we buy these import cars.Yet for new better map on ecu it must be reset

may be the mechanic meant..the tuning as tappet adjustment...then...VVti engines dont require any adjustment...

you guys with vitz has what kind of experience when you walk in to toyota authorized workshops??
they welcome you and treat you properly or look local xli's and gli's more closer than your vitz's?

@ wasay thnx.. btw wat happens if the throttle body is nt cleaned or fuel filter chngd.. i m nt xperiencing ny probs wid pick or performance.. @ accord 7362.. dey r polite.. bt very misleading.. smeun broke my vitz quarter glass. i went to a toyota dealership dnt rem da name.. and he said dat it isnt available in pak.. will hve 2 b imported.. bt wen i went 2 plaza it ws available everywhere!!!

well if ur car is okay let it be like it is only change transmission oil.

@wasay.. yeah bout dat.. i heard its a CVT transmission and members on pakwheels say dat change it after 100000 km.. n my car is done only 57000 km.. bt am confused :S

wow 100k kms damm in most of the user manual of both auto n manual trans cars its recomended to change the fluid after every 40k kms dont know where 100k kms thingy originated frm.
