Vitz 2011 with water throwing engine but reducing oil. Why?

Hi Guys

I have got Toyota Vitz 2011 it runs very smooth without any noise from engine. It gives very good average of petrol but it produces smoke from silencer and throws water at the same time when I start the car in the morning after 5 to 10 minutes it throws few drops of water.

Recently I have been checking its reducing engine oil a bit too.

What should I do to fix this oil reducing issue?

what is odo meter reading and maintenance history.

ask workshop to perform compression test. it will ascertain weather the rings are weak or the valve seals have leaked. what is approx quantity of oil consumption every 5000 kms.

odo meter reading is 69.5K I bought it 3 months ago. I did tuning and it turned out the previous owner did not maintain it well. With tuning I did not change oil because I had change it already before the tuning but then I forgot to check oil gauge regularly until it reached to next oil change. When I was changing oil it was too low even below the last level. I was lucky my engine was not failed due it. So I think now it reduces oil much. It might be more than half on every 5000 kms. its ok toyota engines specially newer high compression engines are expected to reduce a litre of oil every 1000 KM.

just start using toyota orignal taglon 5w-50 API SN oil and keep a close eye on oil level and top it up whenever required.

reduction in oil level is no issue. it is expected and written in the car manual. you can check it online if you do not have its orignal manual.

Bro as per my understanding, you are saying that the oil level is half the total capacity after 5000 KM. The oil capacity is 3.1 liters so 1.55 liter every 5000 KM for a small engine is very high.

It is true that some oil is burnt during combustion, but still there is a limit to this. You may use a thicker oil but this issue has to be fixed. An engine compression test is required to evaluate the sealing of the piston oil rings and cylinder head valve seals.

at next oil change check the quantity drained before fresh oil is poured into engine.
200-500 consumption at 5000 km is ok, any figure over & above that is alarming and compression test is required to ascertain oil consumption.

Thanks bro for your valuable reply. Yes I tried thicker oil this time and there is no issue so far. I think the issue was caused by tuning. Any how this time I used Toyota Petron 20W-50 and its very thicker oil and also recommended by Toyota. Thanks

its written in the toyota manual, 200-500 ml reduction over 1000 KM is normal depending upon driving conditions and routine.

i have seen many comments abt oil reduction issues in 2010-14 models with 1krfe engine, everyone claims its mentioned on toyota manual
