Well brother though I can be wrong but to me your car seem to have it’s meter reversed. The doesn’t look fresh at all and instead of 72k it seems to be driven more then 172k kms.
Still take your car to any Toyota 3s and get a general check up done.

I agree with him..when I was about to purchase car almost all 15 showrooms have cars without auction sheet...and they gave excuses about that..I checked most auction sheet and found these to be fake

I have Vitz 1999 and done 195K on it. Its a beautiful car with a sporty drive and excellent road grip. Trick to trouble free driving is keep it away from our illiterate mechanics. Just do preventive maintenance limited to oil, filter changes and brakes service. Don't worry about the rest. The car will tell you itself when it needs attention. Just keep your eyes open for any worn out parts.

i have just gone through your issues in Vitz. Two things are serious, one you have some greedy mechanic or Workshop who by promotion or otherwise convinced to see them frequently visits and off course their fee.

Better go to some reasonable workshop who are quality committed with out cheating. If you are in Lahore, we are there to put your car in again good conditions. All the problems you mentioned need through check up and rectification of faults.

I hope after rectifying the faults you will enjoy the smooth drive. Then you will feel there is no need to change to change the car due to troubles, anyhow, for making the change you can sell the old car with full confidence and get good value.

Try get a compression test done. That should tell of any mechanical issues with valves or rings, or gasket or general head problems. If any of those are there, then nothing short of fixing those issues will do you any good.

Then give us a pic of how your spark plugs look when you take them out. That tells a lot more of other issues.

Then we need to scan your car. Esp note the response of o2 sensor. The O2 sensor is likely shot and needs replacing. But confirm it prior to replacement.

Ahsan spark plugs were changed recently. Like a month ago. Installed original iridium plugs.

And how can one perform a compression test?

And scan O2 sensor? Correct me if I'm wrong isn't that when a screen is connected to scan all the functions? My mech does that after every tuning. What needs to be checked there?

Compression test is done using compression tester. Take it to Toyota guys and have dry and wet compression test done from them.
And O2 sensor response speed, yes that needs to be tested using OBD2 scanner.

That's what I'm going to do if I don't find a solution here.
This is the ONLY platform where I could trust someone's opinion. Otherwise neither the mechanics nor the car dealerships will ever tell you the truth.

Iridium plugs, once cleaned, lose their iridium advantage.
These plugs are use-only-then-discard type. Good for 50-100k kms

I retrieved my 2006 vitz auction report in 2017 through mycar.pk
At the time of purchase i didn't check auction report back in 2013 as I bought it from my brother's friend.

The auction report revealed that 2 parts were replaced and mileage was reduced upto 50k km, that was indeed shocking.

The best way is to verify auction report and confirm its mileage with what is shown on ODO meter, in most of the cases the difference is few hundred kilometers.

If the difference is in thousands of kilometers the meter of car is tempered.
