Hello, everyone! I have recently purchased a 2012 Toyota Vitz. I am going for its service tomorrow, after buying it second hand (40k odometer). What are the things that I should focus on? It doesnt have many problems except vibration on idle, and exhaust makes a lot of noise when accelerating. Any input from experienced vitz owners would be appreciated. Regards!
Congrats on new car. Considering it a 2012 model and having only 40k km is hard to believe but first check its auction sheet to be sure. First check all the fluids and filters. 1.Engine oil use any 5w-20 or 5w-30 of good brand. If you can afford then use Mobi1 or liquimoly otherwise shell 5w-30, zic 5w-20, kixx 5w-30, total 5w-30, all are good oil. Vitz oil capacity is 3L don’t pour more.2. Oil filter use Toyota filter don’t buy the guard one. 3. Air filter use the local one which is 300-400 rather than original Toyota (which is also local made) which cost 1500-2000. 4. Change the Ac cabin filter. 5. Check and replace the brake pads and brake oil. 6. Check and use Toyota pink coolant if not present. 7. Change the CVT gear oil and only use Toyota Cvt Tc tin can from a expert mechanic or you will messup your transmission. 8. Clean your throttle body to minimise the vibration at idle. 9. For the noise from exhaust check if the catalytic converter is present or not. Go to any silencer shop. If it’s present just get it open and service it but don’t remove it no matter how much people insist because removing it will make more trouble. 10. Last check the condition of spark plugs and if need to be replaced get the original ones. Thats all I can think of now. Feel free to ask anything.

Sure1. Engine oil i say use Zic 5w-20 because it is easily available price Rs 1800 for 3L. 2. Oil filter Toyota paper cost Rs 400-600. 3. Ac filter is Rs200-300. 4. Brake pads Toyota one is between Rs 2500-3500 and other brand are between Rs1000-2000. 5. Brake oil 1 can price is Rs 500 not sure. 6. Cvt oil price 3500-4500 for 4 litre can. But vitz transmission oil capacity is I think 3L. 7. Throttle body cleaner cost Rs 300 and easily available at car shops. 8. Catalytic converter cleaning + labour cost differs from each silencer shop but usually 1500-2000 is fine. 9. Vitz uses iridium spark plugs which can be used for 80000 km and each plug is Rs 1000-1200. Kindly mention where are you from so others members can help to refer you good mechanic and best place for thes works.

I take my father's corolla grande (2014) to toyota dealership for all sorts of work. Will probably take this one as well since it is a second hand vehicle, and i'm not too sure about it's current detailed state. Once again, your mentioned information is extremely appreciated
No problem brother Other Than Cvt oil change which cost something like Rs 5000+ from Toyota which is still very expensive and labour charges are separate do all the other work from outside not from Toyota because you will be saving 50%. Just ask on other thread for best mechanic in isl some members will surely guide you.

I'm being told that liqui moly with ceratec is the best engine oil for Vitz. Is that true? My car cost me 12,70,000. Its a f limited version
Another thing, bhai. The manual for vitz says 0W-20 engine oil, and that is the best for consumption as mentioned in manual. Shouldn't it be insisted to use this very grade of oil?
Yes liqui is one of the best in Pakistan but its very expensive and better for long oil change interval which is not possible in small 1000cc vitz. But its totally your choice if you want to use it for me its just wasting money. About the 0w-20 viscosity part yes it’s true but finding this is very difficult as it’s rarely available in only liqui moly and kixx and you don’t know what the engine has been gone through earlier so better to use 5w-20 or 5w-30 oil. Also you can use ceretic with any oil in your car. I had also poured it into my vitz 200k km some 10000 km ago and its good make the engine smooth and quite. Cost 2500
I will use liqui moly for vitz and maybe a toyota 5w-20/30 for corolla. You've been really helpful recently!
What's the changing interval for liqui moly 5w-30 for 1.0 vitz (2012)?
The oil can be used for 8-10 k km but in cars having 6-8L oil capacity and original good oil filters but sadly for small engines like vitz its maximum 6-7k km provided that the oil filter is original and of good quality which is not possible in Pakistan so its not wise just as I said earlier it’s just wasting money. Better to use the oil which cost half the price and change every 4-5k km with new oil rather than using old one for long interval. That way engine will be good and healthy forever.
Awais bhai just got LM 5w30 fully synthetic special tec aa with cera tec. Also cleaned exhaust with LM catalytic converter system cleaner. Engine sounds better, pick is slightly improved. maybe it will improve as time goes on. The i8 guy asked me to change oil after 10k now. He insisted on 10w40 but i made sure to put 5w30 since car is only 43k on odo. Air filter to be changed next along with maybe a throttle body clean if required. Change the air filter as soon as possible. And don’t fall for the 10k oil change if you want to save your car engine then change the oil filter at 5k not 10k because of the dusty environment. Otherwise pretty soon it will be giving you issues. Also don’t mess around with the throttle body if there is no vibration just spray into it don’t open the whole.
When i change oil filter, do i lose engine oil? There is still a little vibration, but apart from that, it's all good now Alhamdulillah
I got a leppon oil filter, is it good? Also which air and ac filter to go for in vitz 2012?
After 5k change only oil filter and at 10k change both oil and oil filter. Use Toyota oil paper filter.Ac and air filter get the local one or leppon is also good. Also mention the cost of the things you changed.
