Vitz 2013 1000cc alternator voltage

Assalam O Alaikum!
Friends today after I installed a new battery in my Vitz, just checked the voltage on the battery terminals while my car was idling, the voltmeter showed 10 volts.. it remained same even on higher rpm.
For a good alternator shouldn't it about 14 volts? If there is any body who can check or have ever checked theirs, kindly share your experience.. TIA

Yes it should be 14 volts not 10

I think one of the alternator diode is faulty. If it's the problem, should i replace the alternator or repair it? By the way i am getting no problem with starting or other electronical systems
