I have Vitz 2003 model (4 cylinder), automatic. I changed it's wheels from Dunlop (175/60/13'') to BridgeStone (185/70/13'') [model B250].I also had to use packing in it's rear suspension. It's ride has become much smooth now but I have noticed improvement in fuel consumption as well. My car model shows 8 petrol gauge lines. After wheel change I got it's petrol tank completely filled. Now before wheel change it was normally giving me 60-65 for first petrol gauge line drop (First line drop gives some extra because while filling tank completely they add some more fuel litre or so above level)i.e. average 55 km/line i.e. 55 X 8= 440 kms per tank. After wheel change it gave me 76 kms for first line. Now I am confused because following points are knocking my mind again and again.
Has wheel change impacted this? But I don't think wheels can have this much impact.
I also got petrol tank filled from total petrol pump. Mostly i uses PSO. Has this some impact?
This is no other noticeable thing done with car.
I am quite happy with my tyres and rims. I got them in 33,000 including old tyres exchange. The current bridgestone tyres have Tread Wear value of 200 i.e. 200 X 30,000 miles= 96,000 kms life. But if we consider pakistani road conditions and other factors then even if they give me 60,000 for their life then it would be really good.
