Vitz giving 10 Km/Litre

i was getting 15+Km / Liter with AC in Lahore City. Yesterday i sold my Vitz - 2006 Push Button Start.
Always keep the airfilter clean, change oil regulalry ( I used CASTROL MAGNETIC - Change after 4,000Km). Use to clean throttle body every 3 months myself (its easy to clean throttle body) and yes, i use to add 20 liter Hi Octane once a month

that is a very good fuel average ... i have done all that you have suggested but still not getting a good fuel average ... can you provide more guidance ?

well iv replaced 02 sensor of my scp10 vitz.There are no error in ecu now n fuel avg in city has improved by 1-2km/litre but still 10-11km/litre n car is stable now
Iv also replaced air flow sensor as busted the old1.1szfe give amazing avg on aftermkt intake setup but tht is not reliable thingy sadly .

Yet iv found no use of removin CAT it only make ur car sound wicked.

Still love my vitzy as it has good response,grip,comfort breaking etc n cheap maintainence.

I'm facing the same problem except mines even worse about 7km! It's a Platz 2001

Please do not remove cat convertor unless it is really choked else u'll get into in another problem of increased vibration and noise.check my profile and see the threads i posted one on cat removal and second on vitz tuning. Still i believe the average local fuel consumption involves a lot of factors.

I'm presently getting 14.5 to 15kmpl locally without ac and i think it is not possible to go any higher, if i use ac the average may reduce to 12 (just an estimate) but i travel in areas with very less traffic no red lights or jams.

Lastly before using any chemical for injector cleaning, etc do serach net for its negative effects

i had a same problem , last week i took my car to Formotion Auto , they scanned my engine and fixed the problem, i took almost four hours. you can contact them on 03004356886, idiling was also the issue which was also resolved.

I want to finish what I started in this thread ...

The discussion is about my Vitz 2006 that is giving me 10 km/L within city with AC. A number of useful suggestions were given by members, but I did not have time to try them out except air filter change, engine tuning (from Toyota), gear oil change.

My concepts changed when I took the Vitz on the Motorway (Isb - Pesh) last weekend. I maintained a speed of 100 kph, and got a fabulous fuel average of 22 km/L, which is very satisfactory.

So, I guess the reason why I get 10 km/L in city is due to the fact that my regular use of the car is from my home to office, which are pretty close to each other. So, the car remains in low gear ratios, and gives a low fuel average. The car is perfect (al hamdolillah) and does not need any adjustments.

I guess its good news for Vitz owners !

your car will always give good economy on the highway, if you do jack rabbit starts from red lights in the city, you are bound to have bad mileage

Recently I have an experience of Vitz 2008

Vitz speedometer is mentioned KM/h where as actually running at Miles/h

I started my journey from Lahore to Multan and speedometer was reset to Zero, upon arrival at Multan it was 200.

Where as it is actually 320 or 330 KMs with my Honda City

200 consumed 20 Liters of Petrol. 200/20 = 10 miles per liter (16 KMs. per liter)

Please have your vitz 2008 checked like this.

ı have Vitz 2003 in very good condition and gives me average 10-11 in local/city with AC. While on motorway gives me 18-20km/L average.
This is normal for vitz i guess
