Aoa,

I know this has been discussed numerous times, but I have not seen any forum that gives a final solution for the problem, if it is being faced. The Vitz Owners Club thread may have the info, but it is such a long thread, that its nearly impossible to find what I am looking for.

I have a 1000 cc Vitz, 2006 model, freshly imported, done 36,000 km.

I am getting a fuel average that is even lower than 10 km/l in the city with A/C, whereas, after reading comments from other members the average should be around 14 km/l.

I recently got the engine tuned from Toyota motors, got Iridium plugs installed, cleaned air filer. Now, as I hear, I need to clean or remove the catalytic converter.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I have changed the transmission fluid, cleaned the throttle body, and drive normally.

change transmission fluids and filter service,also checked throttle if need service.
Tyre should be 185 or 195 use alloys instead of rim.
Drive with smooth pedal Vitz really eats petrol when u kick down.

according to the price tag of vitzzz now a days 10KM/L is not bad

Just kidding , also change fuel filter & stay to the stock (plugs)

But, I have serviced the throttle and changed transmission fluid. I drive smoothly and don't floor the accelerator ever.

Any other suggestions?

something has gone off sync - have toyota stick their diag tool to the OBD socket and make them take live readings - tell them to see if the O2 sensor has not become "lazy"

Iss smoothness nay hee tu iss key addat kharab kar dee hay Pa G do floor the accelerator occasionally , iss say garee ka hazma theek ratha hay , & she will open up, and give better mileage next time

hmm do look if uv gone for proper spark plugs as vitz has different plugs thn normal iridiums.Yet stock iridiums r better so I suggest swap thm back in.

Please do not remove cat convertor unless it is really choked else u'll get into in another problem of increased vibration and noise.check my profile and see the threads i posted one on cat removal and second on vitz tuning. Still i believe the average local fuel consumption involves a lot of factors.

I'm presently getting 14.5 to 15kmpl locally without ac and i think it is not possible to go any higher, if i use ac the average may reduce to 12 (just an estimate) but i travel in areas with very less traffic no red lights or jams.

Lastly before using any chemical for injector cleaning, etc do serach net for its negative effects

cat convertor plugging up is a very very rare case unless you feed it raw fuel. it operates at extremely high temperature, so carbon has very very little chance of settling on it.

i was getting 15+Km / Liter with AC in Lahore City. Yesterday i sold my Vitz - 2006 Push Button Start.
Always keep the airfilter clean, change oil regulalry ( I used CASTROL MAGNETIC - Change after 4,000Km). Use to clean throttle body every 3 months myself (its easy to clean throttle body) and yes, i use to add 20 liter Hi Octane once a month
