I have vitz 2001. A few days back i noticed the car taking longer and weaker ignition starts of my car. Thought it to be the battery (battery is OSAKA 48 dry year old) but after even longer drives i noticed same issue. Then i noticed dim headlights even when engine started without pressing accelarator. Further when i swith on blower fan not AC, it further dimmed headlights and slower fan speed as well. On pressing accelarator both fan and headlights works fine. Last night while driving at approx 30 km/h with headlights, car deck with amplifier (without base tube) and AC switched on , everything faded away to dead and the battery light in speedometer comes in though the engine was working fine. I put the car in neutral and accelarated it at higher RPM and everything comes in back. I went to electrian and he said to change the generator. I changed it . Tonight after driving approx 15 kms i switched off the car and when i tried to restart it, it failed. Before changing generator i consulted 3 electricians who ensured me that there is no drainage or no short wirings. I even tried replacing the battery.. Nothing helped..
