Vitz oil reduction

Hello All.
I need an expert opinion regarding vitz oil reduction problem. I have vitz 2012, and registered in 2016. I am the first owner, and driving since i purchased. But, its been 3 years i was facing problem of oil reduction, i changed many oils and was keeping a eye as well. I was used to change oil at max 3000km, with little oil reduction problem. But, since last 2 months, my engine ia reducing oil at even 1500km and shown check light of oil. Some friends suggesting change of engine, but im reluctant. Can any one here help oit regarding this? Any valuable sugesstion plz. Would look forward.

Which oil grade u r using?

IMO, 1st of all, have your vehicle scanned via some professional ELM327 / OBDII Diagnostics tool for any / all fault codes, so as to take remedial actions accordingly.

2ndly, if by oil light, you mean low engine oil pressure check light, then its not a good sign.

Mind sharing some details? Which engine oil brands and grades you have been using, and which engine oil brand and grade you are using currently?

Its huge. And if you also observe blue smoke from the exhaust, then it may mean that engine is past its effective service life, and might be requiring a rebuild / overhaul.

Switching to thick oils like 20w-50 would be a temporary solution, and won't work in the long run.

Go for proper rebuild, from some good and competent mechanic; who gives warranty of at least 40~60,000 Kms of his work, uses genuine, OEM parts in brand new condition, and rebuilds as per company specs.

As far as I know, most parts of 1KR-FE 1000 cc Vitz engine are available in brand new condition.

Swapping should be the last choice.
