Here is a 67 vintage rear bonnet I sent to Romano along with a few bits for the Aussie Bug. More pics have been posted in the Aussie thread.

Found it at the local scrapyard. Was too good to be let off for melting. The 67 decklid is a one year only item along with a whole lot of parts on the 67 year model Bugs.

This will go into Romano's collection of Beetle bits!

(In case anyone is wondering how I am so generous, I already have another one!)

actually i have a query so whoever finds time n check this post and could answer should answer:P
my 1969 1.2l i giving "grr"" sound on shifts..i checked with the mechanic..he filled in the transmission oil as it was running DRY..i took the car for a test drive but still no chnage...and now my mechanic says tht my cars clutch plate, a pressure plate and one of the stud needs replacement..i agree on changing the clutch plate n a pressure plate but how does he know tht a stud is leaking pressure??

i didnt even knew wht a stud was..he point to a rod like structure on one of the engines lying in his garage.

it could be that there is a bit of free play in the linkage and that is leading to the grinding noise. but without a picure of what he is refferig to it is hard to clarify what the unit is that he is reffering to.

can any one tell me whts the factory fitted tyre size on volkswagon beetle 1969??

@miyaan, wait till i get back and i will check the noise on yr car...tyre size for 1200 cc is 155x15, buy if thats not available (and they are not) then get the nexen 165x15. all our friends use them and they work great!
dont bother with General cross plys, greased banana skins and only good for fitting on generator trailers and other stationary machines.

Its almost in the same condition as i bought
Changed the tyres
got the rims painted
little buffing
slight adjustments with the steering box
vintage steering ..

Thanks man... well about the white walled tyre I also couldnf find em so got the tyres painted
the chrome hubcaps are now on the tyres, the pics are before I fitted them on.

Hi old friends, long time! Sorry I often remain out of touch on forums but I do browse through whenever I get time. Its good to see everyone's participation on Beetle's Forum.

My Bug is stilling running with me, these days its in the garage for complete engine over-hauling which I had been planning since long... Later I will get some body work done, it won't be a project but a little work-out. I'll be restoring it later in few months time...

Hello all,
I have been approached by the management of the upcoming Mango festival planned for Islamabad this weekend. They would like us to bring our Beetles and display them. I am hesitant to say yes unless I have at least ten cars. Is anyone out there interested to join in?
They are expecting a few thousand visitors, and have promised secure parking.
I need to let them know by Monday 21st evening. Hurry up and let me know what your thoughts on this are.
Of course, as always, any aircooled VW is welcome, so buses and Ghias, type3 and 4s, 182s, and so on.
Venue will be disclosed later
