AoA all,

I am looking forward to buying a beetle preferably a 1969 model with a 1600cc (i hope it comes in that model) engine.

Before buying the ride, i am doing some homework so that i don't get into trouble later on.

Found a very interesting site with all the manuals.

I am looking for more links regarding parts/ engines specs/ model specs etc etc.

I will start a full hunt for the car after Eid in ISL/RWP.

Welcome on board. You are in luck. I have recently been contacted by 4 owners wishing to sell their cars. One, a red 1968 is a real gem. It was exhibited at a recent meet at Rawal Dam. Red, Isb plate. Rizwan 0300-559 9551
The others are in various states of neglect. None is a 1.6 though. You will have to swap engines later on.

And I'm sure you will get plenty of help from Isb fellows, there are alot of enthusiastic Beetle fans in Islamabad, I wonder why guys from Lahore don't come to this forum. A hurriedly typed out note for now (before I catch up after a long internet cable breakdown....)

A 62 VW Beetle is due to be scrapped at Shershah in a day or two. Any interest in rescuing this gem????

Have not seen the car yet but from the description it does need a fair bit of bodywork. Engine is said to be superb, recently rebuilt and on LPG. In short it may be most probably a good project car.

Please let me know asap.....before its too late.

BTW, this is what a restored 62 looks like. rescued from a kabariya in Lahore some yrs ago, she now romps home with a first prize at every show!
