Okay, for those who joined this fan club lately, and for those who know my Bug since the day I bought it. Here is a little update/story about my old friend who has been there for me through thick and thins. My '69 1500 Deluxe.
Recent Photo

I owned it back in July, 2006. And it has been in running condition since then, although I don't run it on daily basis as I never converted it to CNG. But I do take her for a ride after every couple of days.
It had 1300cc engine when I bought it, but later I upgraded it to 1.5 as per original Specs.
Here is a latest glimpse, I just changed fuel filter and piping afterwards.

Usually what happens is or at least what I have observed, youngsters buy a VW Beetle with pretty much enthusiasm but after running it for a few months, they realize how hard it is to keep this beauty running flawlessly. And eventually they lose interest and then she is found lying around in a backyard for months and eventually getting sold after bearing much abuse.
But, this is not the case with me at all. I was not newly introduced to Beetles since my mother has also been a die-hard VW fan, drove '74 Economy for 20 years and then bought another '74 which she later sold it after doctor's advice to avoid driving due to back problem. Therefore my love for VW Beetles actually increased after owning one, and I started learning a great deal about this historic peace of engineering.
The reason I do not post here regularly is due to my hectic routine, I'm working 9-5, then I have 4 hours online job, then being a Designer I get projects that take the rest of my time. BUT, I always remain in the background and visit this thread many times a week.
I usually try to do most of the little things like Tuning, Electrics myself as I cannot just get the desired results from our local mechanics. Although my Beetle often visits my mechanic for time to time checkups,

D.I.Y Fuel Tank last year.

Currently, my Beetle is not in an ultimate condition aesthetically, some major work of interior and exterior is to be done. At the same time, I had been hunting parts for for future project on it. Though I try to keep it working right mechanically.

Recently, I have had a plan to make it a Performance VW. I know I have to go about alot of things but that is what I intend to do and hopefully, by the help of our knowledgeable members like Strom, AsadIshaque, Romano, I might start this project in a year or two. That is why I'm current not worrying much about its looks and all.
Photo I took a month ago in Raiwind, area about 40KMs away from my home.

So, that was a little update with a little background and latest photos, got a little time and hence I wanted to share it with my fellow Beetle enthusiasts.
I have to save some bucks in order to do some serious Mods on it, so it might take a while. But till then, I'm enjoying it like anything.
