@haywire my mechanic is not a Beetle specialist, he's near the railway track's on Mai Kolachi, it's been two week since I've given him my '68 for conversion from LPG-Petrol still no progress, in one simple word he simply ''Suck's''.

i've seen many late model automatics which have been swapped to manual,... so they all benefitted having IRS.

@storm its a 71 model with 1300cc engine. I have a steering wheel right now but there is no horn button and I can see the "nut" in the middle of my steering wheel. Also its a bit crooked!!

@storm its a 71 model with 1300cc engine. I have a steering wheel right now but there is no horn button and I can see the "nut" in the middle of my steering wheel. Also its a bit crooked!!

you can find a centre cap and have the steering realigned & repaired so i'd not bother replacing it. i take it that it looks like this:

I once saw my old 1302-S (B-1302) reg mark of Karachi - and it was in pretty faded shape, still had the original 1600 cc twin port engine healthy and strong and the best it was still fweeming

being a 71 it should have the chrome ring with the "D" and a wolfsburg crest centre cap (castle). usually the D's are missing and people make do without it in PK. if your steering is in order (the bits that are left) then i'd suggest you just get the horn part (chrome) from the kabaria till you find a better example or import one from abroad.
