I tried calling you guys last week or the week before a few times but i think it was a bad time; another reason could be that i was using a calling card and you had a different calling ID. I was in UK and was buying some stuff for my beetle and wanted to know if you guys need anything since i am planning to come to Pakistan for Eid. Sameer I am still trying to find you an ashtray.

I was hoping to find some good stuff here in Germany but no luck; its extremly cold here and hardly anyone speaks english.

thanks for the search but i got my ashtray from nasir in canada a few months back. really appreciate your call when you were doing your shopping. i'm good for now as far as parts are concerned i just did a euro tour a while back and got what i needed.

i compiled a list a few months back which can be found on this thread. it is the most comprehensive list of VW engines found anywhere on the net.

AC was produced from 8/70 till 7/75, was 1285cc in the type 1 & produced 40hp. as far as i can tell this wasn't a dual port engine as dualport 1285s produced 44hp (like the AR engine). but it is possible it was a low compression dual port for areas with poor fuel which would explain the low power output.

i must have missed out the page, my bad. Anyway I suggest we should start a separate thread which includes the maintenance and technical issues. Something like "VW Technical FAQ's". Just a suggestion.

This 1302 is 1600cc dual port and has empi rims, 40 twin carbs and additional oil sump and is running a stock gearbox so is limited to 130kmph

bugselecta is a great bit of software, too bad they don't have on for the "thing". i'd suggest you go for the 2-tone blue as yellow has been done to death in PK (but with less of a drop so that the car remains driveable on our roads)

Can anyone please tell me who the yellow LHD Ragtop Beetle (RIF) belongs to?

I don't think I've seen this one....or is this the 1960 that was sold to Lahore many years ago?
