That's a great-looking project (the 62 deluxe)...unless it's dog-awful, I would perhaps prefer to keep the car pretty much as is with all necessary work done, plus correct 62 parts (i.e. license plate light, indicators and black hood crest) added but that's just me. I like cars with that 'survivor' look. Shiny paint and tacky leatherette interiors on VWs here in PK have just never done it for me.
Likewise, I would strongly advise against going to amateur denters/body shops. It's just not worth the time and the money, seriously, especially with a bug of that vintage.
That 63 Ragtop....arghhhh...where do I begin? Frankly, I'd rather not comment on THIS one. God Help this rare and unfortunate creature; she clearly needs it. If only I had her...
