Now in the pic above; Note the White Cross, the cross measurements have to be exactly equal (down to the last cm) in order to make sure that the bulkhead is aligned.

While the other cross (I cant tell the color as I am color blind - sorry) shows the way to check the alignment of the floor pans/frame in the similar fashion as above. I hope this helps, anything you just cant understand please ask.

P.S.: BULKHEAD ONLY NEED TO BE ALIGNED IF ITS EITHER REPLACED FOR BEING ROTTEN OR HAS RECEIVED A MAJOR BLOW IN SOME COLLISION.

cm? - ure kidding right, its supposed to be dead perfect to the last mm - I downloaded a german book a long time ago (56K dial up days) - dont know which CD I burnt it to, but it had dimensions of measuring any sort of type 1 beetle.

all calculations of curvatures, how to make jig dies for headlamp pots, where to measure the floor - what method to weld, how to tension the floor etc. measurement of the body alignment etc.

A couple of days back while going home I spotted a VW shell at a road side near my place. It was getting a Body off restoration. I asked the person doing the denting if he had done any VWs before. He said if he had'nt done it before he would have been standing wondering how to go about it and not removed the body from the chassis.....

if only he know who he was talking to.....(H)

thanks so much for sticking with me till i got near the house,... that cruiser is a MONSTER!!! i think the fault i was experiencing was the fuel filter. will swap it out today.
