went to mumtaz's workshop a few days back, captured a few pics i though i'd share:

poor car has had a tough life but it is coming back with a bang,.. do note that it has a rare "reduction gear" setup so it's pretty much a mountain goat with wheels.

Been after this car since i saw it years ago in F-10,.. what a beauty!

This engine will be going into my friends car,... still with the 1st owner from when it left the showroom in 69!!

next day the karmann turned up at romanos place after a long hiatus,.. still looks as stunning as ever

that same day i spotted this lovely 1303 parked near my office, regardless of certain things which weren't original i have to say i really liked it,... however i've been informed that it is runnign a diesel engine now:eek:

i remember you from the javed workshop at hathi chowk, you still got your bug, what i know it was sold to few foreigners and she was on her way to Ireland?

What is the part here in the picture? It belongs on a VW and here you see both sides of the same part

Guys please! I can't hear it if you all speak at the same time...Ok so you all guessed it right...It is the lock plate that goes in the front wheels and locks the two centre nuts so they won't loosen on their own. They are placed between the two nuts and the wing tabs are folded on the side. The tabs are straightened when you want to remove the wheel bearing. Ideally the lock plate should be replaced every time it is removed but due to non availability the mechanics don't use it at all.

Chk out the picture to get a better understanding of the positioning.

i've almost never seen anyones beetle in PK with this part. here the priority is given to chrome parts,... LOL!

hope you will be fine and in great health. I guess you're having a misunderstanding, Javed's workshop is situated in KAMRAN market on Kashmir Road. I do have my bug but the car you're talking about belongs to one of my friend SHANE who is going to IRELAND in about one month time, that was a navy blue 1967 beetle.

Whats cooking at your end these days? Any more restos? Please share if there are any to share.

Thanks for your comments- been a bit quiet lately due to health.
However keep my eyes on PW as I love the the MB stuff and the classic and vintage car photos are unreal.
Kombi Konnection forum also keeps me occupied.

Go see the bug personally buddy. Try taking a veteran along once you have visited it by yourself first and have a mind to proceed further with the deal. The veteran could have a final look for you to guide you with the deal on the bug.

yes i am in a mood to personally go and check it. but sadly i don't know any VW expert whom i can take along with me. although my driver has a great experience of cars but VW isn't his game.
