Do not despair. Just go see the bug first for initial assessment and general likeability. Once you've done that, I am sure there would be many who could be requested to come along with you.

no no,.. this is another car. it used to be (and to some degree still is) one of the best original beetles out there. sadly she wasn't that well stored and she has recently developed this rust.

not a bad looking specemin, specially if she's only done 37,000kms,.. which i doubt.

only thing puttin gme off was the fact that it has a DVD player etc,... seriously, this is not an extra from episode of "pimp my ride", it's a VW beetle,.. and that too a 67. i hope whatever has been doen to the interior can be reversed.

As we all know that Super beetles have Pneumatic windshield washer system and i am not sure about others but my car's washer system has been replaced by electric motor followed by a push button on my dash board.
Washer works fine, but ..... i don't like the push button. I am not sure if i should go back to pneumatic system or should i alter something in my washer wiper stalk so that i am able to remove the push button from my dash board.
Moreover, i am instrested in keeping my washer stalk, i don't want it to be replaced with some ugly looking japanese washer stalk but at the same time, i certainly want my washer stalk to function like them he he he...

I am a regular visitor to this Forum. Though i prefer to silently browse thru, yet sometimes it just becomes unbearable not to comment. I am officially jealous of you guys. LOL!! Was just wondering (a wild thought) if it would be possible to hire a Super Beetle for a month when i visit Pakistan next time (I'd be travelling between Islo n Bahawalpur)? sigh! I know... I know.. no one needs to comment on that one....!!

murtaza_murti, bugzy, storm. Thanks for the kind words. I live on Raiwind Road Lahore. The car is my son's daily driver to LUMS and back, roughly 70 kms. It has twin 40mm Kadrons, with loads of other goodies (Rs. 400,000 + worth) still lying in my study waiting to be installed. Omer has meanwhile graduated and will be starting work soon, so it'll still be his daily driver. Yes Murti, the EMPI'S cost me 110,000 all inclusive. Storm, the taillights were faded and the bumpers met with their share of other vehicles, bent enough to be rendered useless, so there...

Guys please! I can't hear it if you all speak at the same time...Ok so you all guessed it right...It is the lock plate that goes in the front wheels and locks the two centre nuts so they won't loosen on their own. They are placed between the two nuts and the wing tabs are folded on the side. The tabs are straightened when you want to remove the wheel bearing. Ideally the lock plate should be replaced every time it is removed but due to non availability the mechanics don't use it at all.

Chk out the picture to get a better understanding of the positioning.

hmm what size hex is that nut? because these washers are available in Karachi for sure.. desi local brand (one time use only)

sound to me as if you have been at this game for a while and are only now showing yoru true colours. i have a feeling you've been into cars & modification in your earlier days,... which means you probably have a few stories to share with us.

B/w here are a few spottings during the trip. In fact there were quite a few bugs that I got to see on the road but then this 66 I particularly liked. Its a two toned blemish free beauty:

is this Dandy Shahzad's car? if so, yes, it is a super clean car. I saw the car when he bought it..it even has its service stamps in a book for as long as the car was in England. ..a very well preserved car Maashaallah
