not really, i just thought that i'd better make a PW VWCOP group. will try and link it here (and vice versa) at least this way we now have the option if we ever need it.

went to see khalid yesterday to get a pro to take a look at the work done on my 182,.. it's amazing the difference that was made to how the car drove when i left his place.

this engine was using standard sized bearings still!! a true testament to how khalid builds engines.

after spending half a day with khalid (mechanic) in west ridge, i went with Nasir to go see Khalid (electrician) in G8 as well as Camera Ustaad.

Now if you ever see this beetle, khalid electrician can't be too far away from you:

yup,.. 100% cured. turns out that i had SAE140 in the gearbox and it had turned into molasses due to the cold. i'm currently using 75W85 as a flush which i'll change out in a few days again for SAE90.

Hello all,

Hope everyone's been doing well. I've been gone a while, in London for some time. Bloody cold and miserable it is, too.

Thought I'd share my ride of the moment: it's a 2000 Mk4 Golf 2.3 V5 Auto. Love the power and rather unique sound of the 5-cylinder engine, complex though it is, it's a great cruiser it must be said.

2 lady owners from new and low mileage, full VW service history, the lot.

My first watercooled Volkswagen in donkeys' years...but I'd trade it back for my long-lost '60 Ragtop Bug in a heartbeat!

Thanks! I think so too. I did considerable research before I settled for a V5; I was looking into a GTI, but general consensus seems to be that the Mk4 GTI was a rather disappointing car (unlike previous GTIs), so I went for this instead.

Out of curiosity, how many Mk4 Golfs are there in PK? From memory, I've seen only 1 or 2 on ISB roads - one was certainly a TDI. A few days before leaving, I saw a really nice looking black Mk5 (UK registration) in ISB, a 5 door 2007 2.0 GT, unless I'm mistaken.

Good to see you back on the thread from UK. Lovely V5 there. I was wondering what happened to your 1963? I hope you stored it dry and well ventilated, did you not?
