I was wondering if someone could suggest any time better than VCCCP Cross Country Rally when our Bugs are decorated with Volkswagen Club of Pakistan (VWCOP) Membership Plaques to travel along the Vintage & Classic Car Club of Pakistan (VCCCP) guys?

Hello guys, where are the membership plaques, would someone tell us please???

i think Shahzeb was handling them but as he was busy getting his car up and running at 100% for the rally he didn't manage to get them ready in time. it's all good, more reason to get them ready for next years rally.

Gifting Truck Art Bumpers to the Visiting Beetles from far & beyond, this is one good tradition that you guys have been able to kick off. Very commendable work guys. Keep pushing to promote the softer image of Pakistan to the world.

it's all down to romano & nasirs dedication to the marque. these 2 really went out of their way to show the true colours of the VWCOP. Bravo to the chairman and "el presidente"!

agreed!! this is what they were being made for!! This is when the club needs to show its identity and stand out from the random bug or 2 that show up!! Ideally we should have them on the 2 cars from karachi but even from Lahore would be okay...

Here is that "Thing" I was talking about, so far the body has been done, and now the hunt for parts and fittings are in progress.

I have shared the latest details including the contact number of shop which has the plaques in Rawalpindi with Arslan and Zohare, as cost is currently the issue for the curved version we want.. I suggest settle for the one plain sample that was shared earlier and order him few more to be made within a day? The decision remains with Romano and Managing committee of the club.

Thanks! I think so too. I did considerable research before I settled for a V5; I was looking into a GTI, but general consensus seems to be that the Mk4 GTI was a rather disappointing car (unlike previous GTIs), so I went for this instead.

Out of curiosity, how many Mk4 Golfs are there in PK? From memory, I've seen only 1 or 2 on ISB roads - one was certainly a TDI. A few days before leaving, I saw a really nice looking black Mk5 (UK registration) in ISB, a 5 door 2007 2.0 GT, unless I'm mistaken.

Congrats on your new ride. There are 2 Vw Golfs Mk4 in Islamabad, one is in silver color powered with 1.9 liter TDI engine and the other one is in navy blue color (Left Hand Drive) powered with V6 2.8 liter engine.

The black Mk5 you saw before leaving belongs to one of my friend. Its a 2009 model with 1.4 liter turbo supercharged Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) engine.

Cars from Islamabad participating in the rally will be leaving on Tuesday morning. Those who wish to join in are most welcome. get in touch with me ASAP! text/ call or email me! the more cars we can have participating the better!! I hope we can bring out a few good old classics from hibernation for this event!! Time to become enthusiasts guys!!! the sun, the open roads and the purr of a fleet of flat fours!! i cant think of a reason for any one not to go!!!
