Go with what the M-code plate says.

I know its a former ambulance so it would be L87 pearl white and you might want to change it to something else to convert its "commercial" status to "private", but fact of the matter is that if I were you, I would rather restore it to a factory specs. "ambulance".

I know it wouldn't sound practical at first because you might want to use it with family but then the thing is that if I had owned as many VWs as you do (including 02 buses), I would want to restore some to "factory specs." even if its to stand out at the shows and to keep the "true" heritage alive. What would better be to keep the "VW ambulance" alive for future generations?

Sounds impractical? I know but you asked for suggestions, here is mine.

Thank you for your suggestion. White is out! (sorry) It is too boring especially when I have a car in white. The ambulance is that just in name. I did not receive any seats (not even the driver and passenger seats) or other ambulance equipment or fixtures with the vehicle. So for all intents and purposes it is a Bay window that I plan to use as a daily driver fitted with all sorts of amenities like a fridge, wired for 220 v. to power appliances, jalousie windows, cabinets, LCD monitor in the back, DVD player, 8 speakers...the list is long.

As for the factory specs, well all the mechanical s are going to be factory specs (other than the brakes that I have upgraded to 78 year power assisted servo type).

Even if the finished bus does not look very cool, it would be a very practical and comfortable family van.

this jump seat is the only seat that came with the bus. Probably because it was fixed to the back of the passenger seat with four 17 mm nuts and bolts!!

^^^ is this the "judge" bus that we talked about? Coz i'm confused, you never mentioned it was an ambulance.

Too many VW's entering (and leaving) my life.... No it is not the judges bus. It was the judges beetle that we may have discussed.

Just out of curiousity, whose Oval RagTop is this? Does anyone has any details on this car? Car/Owner history etc.?

Beige really isn't an option as we sprayed the lid from the left over paint in the gun while testing / colour matching for the beetle that is being re-sprayed tomorrow. besides beige is too boring on a vehicle this size.

the usual ..that it is a fire vehicle build for Pakistan blah blah blah.

congrats Nasir, i don't even know about the ragtop since i've been so out of the loop lately.

as for the bus, i think sahara beige (i think that is what you've painted the petrol cap) would be different and very suitable for PK, also the green on the far right (the onel that looks like olive drab) look spretty cool as well. main reason is that the rest of the colours have been done to death.

some vintage signwriting would look awesome as well....
