You can get a post 73 Alternator from Bilal Gunj or maybe one of Lahore's VW expert mechanics/electricians and have it fit. An alternator puts out more power than the pre 73 generator currently on your car.
Dont forget to get the alternator pedestal along with the deal with the holddown strap. Both are different for an alternator since the diameter is larger.
I would recommend getting the whole unit along with the fan and backing plates (2) as a package. Its easier then rather than mix n match from your old setup.
While Im at this let me mention that the pair of backing plates direct cool air from the fan shroud thru the alternator.....essential if you dont fancy frying your new investment.
Expect to pay around Rs 2500 to Rs 3000/- for the setup. This is a rough figure, much depends on what kinda mood the seller is in.
I dont think you should consider lowering the bug here.....the roads are killers!
Alloys would look nice but dont go for super wide tyres IMHO. Anyway I would prefer the stock steelies. People would differ from me here.
