AssalamuAlaikum,
I need an advise from the members who have knowledge of german cars.
I want to buy a new small car, I have the following options;
- Honda Civic 2012
- Toyota Corolla 2012
- Volkswagen Jetta
Regarding Honda Civic 2012 its absolute crap, 8th Gen is 1000 times better, I am currently using 8th Gen Civic.
I personally saw Jetta at the showroom and I loved it, I am planning to buy new Jetta (Trendline trim). I want to know that;
- Are VWs reliable?
- Will Jetta be able to serve me 5 years trouble free?
- 2.0l 115 bhp engine is offered here in KSA, is that Ok?
- Saudi Arabia has a very hot climate, temperature reaches 50+ in summer, will the car be able to run perfectly in this climate?
- My yearly usage will be around 50,000 km, will it be able to serve me well for 250,000km?
- Regarding repairs & spare parts what is the price comparision with Japanese automakers?
I am worried because I am spending money on this new car and if I am wrong with this decision I have to suffer 5 years as here in KSA resale value of VW is very poor.
Last option is to buy a Corolla which I am trying my best to avoid, had one at home, drive wise it is a lifeless car to be honest.
Please advise me...
