Do somebody have idea how much VTI Honda 2000 engine cost!!!!!!!!!!!!
bro it will cost u around 60-70k....... with complete gearbox, ecu n wiring...........whats the problem with ur old engine........?
well the engine is all gone in fact i have 98 vti and putting 200 engine in 98 model iguess its oK!!!!!!!!
the engines are same of both the cars...u better go for d15b double vtec engine...its give u both economy n power...it has three stage vtec system............for more details...contact me on my cell numebr given in my signature...tcallah hafiz
let me chk ur car if u wish 2......might possible that it had not gone...............
sure i do like have an overhauling cost as well could u tell approx cost
well simply change the assembly dont swap the entire engine until and unless you going for some Honda b Series H Series.Assembly of d16y8 will hardly cozt 20k wth urs current exchaged.rest cant say if the assembly of d17a2 would be identical with oem wiring etc tht would be a good optin.Rest if you want some power gaint then go for aftermkt performance add onns thts it.DOnt switch to d15b etc no use
I would not suggest going for a D15b. If you do want to change, go for a D17b.
d1bb, 3 stage vtec assembly swap would be clip to clip zero alteration.(buts u will feel power loss) ........... try finding D16Y6 or D16Z... engines
engine overhaul cost me 50,000 rupees and still i had to throw out the engine after few months.
yes d15b would be a good option .....its economical and gives immense power.....d17b or above will increase your petrol and cng consumption because d17b is a 1700cc engine ...hope you find the best solution..
@wasaywhat items do you exactly mean when you say 'engine assembly'?
do they have d16y6 in pakistan??
As mentioned by Wasay dont go for complete engine ...wat u need is just complete block means Head assembly...u dont hav to buy gear, wirring, ecu etc...and the Head assembly will cost u 20-25k depending on the condition....i u want a swap then again D15b head assembly will workwell with ur current gear might b some alteration is needed in the wiring but an electrician will easily do it.
@ wonder guybro u r going to confuse the new ones abt the head n block assembly...both head and block r 2 different parts of the engine..........
D15B, 3 stage vtec, wiring will be clip on. zero alteration .... change assembly ONLY....but the engine is slow and sluggish..try finding D16Y6 or D16Z* series.....
yes ahm13, i swapped d16y6 in my vti. i have uploaded pictures in my thread.
yr my friend bought an 88 accord last week.but i saw that car yesterday.i has the same d15b 3 stage vtec engine installed.the performance is awesome. i mean it can easily beat 1.8 vvti or 1.8 i-vtec........but the drive and stability is not gud as that of the same accord with its original engine. because the foundations are changed away.........
Dude, ur friends car got swapped with complete wiring ECU of D15B..........
existing VTI owner will need only assembly......for some reason with D16Y8's ECU, D15B vtec 3 does not perform that much.
whatever you do, avoid the D16Y4 engines which were offered in the early 96 civics. i had one in my VTi and i curse honda pakistan for selling me a VTi with the power of an EXi (the D16Y4 was an econo aussie-sourced engine)
so many ideas! Original poster disappeared after asking a question:)i think the question is vti engine and probably the OP didnt understand the various engine codes mentioned.
Most probably he is asking for engine block price of unit that came in his car .
@levin very true 4 sure!
