First of all excuse me for not being able to respond to your PM and posts. Congratulations on the purchase but how much did you get it for... I sold it to the denter and he was repeatedly saying that he wants it for his own use. Any way contrary to its looks it was a really good project car. This was a car I wanted to do a bit of experimenting with but as it was being rusted and I was not being able to start its resto as I had other projects on hand it got sold though half heartedly...

@NaveedRizvi thanks for the pics, i paid 53k for the car. you are right indeed its a great project car and i am doing my level best to restore it to its former glory. slowly we are getting there and hopefully if everything goes according to the plan we will have another lovely beetle on the road by the end of march

hey guys last two weeks were not as fruitful as i anticipated, even this week i had to swear my head off on denter to speed up the resto. i dnt normally loose it bt this week i did :S bt yeah emotionally blackmailed the denter to get it ready by the 3rd march or else i am not gonna let him work on my city (H)
lets hope this works or else i dont know what to do apart from putting a nail in his head lol

bdw the rear fender i bought were as bad as the one on the car so this denter guy is going to fabricate them from scratch. there is a lot of rust on the passenger side of the car so its taking like ages i honestly dnt know if my denter is being an angel or evil. his work seems to be quite good but he is slow as snail

i guess i need to hold tight and hang in there please guys you lot being all quite is not helping either could do with a little bit of moral support

Good going, don't lose your heart when it comes to pushing panel beaters/painters etc. Follow through constantly, just make sure you don't leave your car with them for too long. These stages are always a pain, but nothing good comes without pain. Keep us updated.

I thinkd you are now using good tactics to get fast & early completion with time limit of 3rd March. The threat will be helpful this time.

Btw why did you buy rear fender with same bad condition if you already have one??
Is this for the same model or pre 68' ??

i fell out with my denter n mechanic due to some financial misconduct TYPICAL i guess thn my mates who refereed me to thm get involved n he took charge of the resto n forced me to stay away from the shop so tht he cn get it done his way

the car should have been in the paint shop today but as almost everything proved difficult in this project my painter pin pointed a few things my denter to fix before the painter can start the job. but i guess it was good call that i requested painter to come out and have a look first (H)

so back to panel beating again wish me luck guys

The only way these panel beaters in Pakistan work is when the "customer" also knows how to beat a panel and remove rust. I had a freind whose panel beater denter was being a PITA in repairing a rusted piece of his E30 BMW. I had a few words with the guy where I showed him his errors and how it should be done - trust me the guy delivered the car in half time.

I love the colour choice. It's very distinctive, indeed.

Another word of advice: don't let these minor quibbles get under your skin. In terms of vehicle rebuilds "que sera sera" (what will be, will be) is a good mantra to chant to calm yourself. All good things come to those who wait, and are patient.

I personally like your color choice but I think you should better follow the actual color code of your Bug, if not possible or you do not want, so you may also go for correct shades according to your model such as Light/Sky Blue, Orange, White.
