Yes it can be done ... I have seen a corolla Xe's 1300cc engine in a Beetle but it needs a lot of work and a Radiator too.....Makes the car look ugly. I have even seen a Charade 1000cc diesel in a Foxy. But why do you want to do it anyway as A foxy engine can be overhauled. If you are looking for more grunt like if you have a 1200 or a 1300 cc Beetle you can always go for a 1600cc engine of a beetle...It fits on the exact same mounts and costs about Rs.18,000
