W126 restoration

Assalamualaikum everyone
I'm restoring a 1984 W126 380SEL( the car is still in its original paint) completely
My plan is to make it some sort of a restomod
Planning to repaint it in metallic black with red/or a blue pearl added to it
Changing the engine to an efi diesel 1TD-FTE
Im open for suggestions

There are so many engine options and you decided to go with a 1td? Why not do a mercedes specific engine swap?
