Wagon R 2017 steering rack play

I need to know if there is any good mechanic in isb/Rawalpindi for repair the steering rack bushings of wagon R. There is a lot play and the rack is making a lot of noise even on small holes or bumps on the road

Yup, it sucks really. Have you faced this issue? And what have you done to resolve, like repair or replace the rack?

I contacted them but even they don't give any guarantee of repair. They said repair would last max 4-6 months after repair which makes it pointless for me. I've tried sourcing new rack but it's not avaialbe at the dealers in Islamabad. I'll check in rawlpindi

Just an update on the thread, I've gone with new steering rack from waseem autos Rawalpindi. Although quality was not top notch but it seemed reasonable.

What was the price? Chinese or Genuine rack?

It was new, not sure if Chinese or other make but was not as good as the original rack. Cost was 20k at the time, probably will be more expensive now. Original one was repaired and kept as spare. One thing to note, the new rack lasts about 20-40k km only and then it too gets play. So better to repair original in my opinion. Plus if oversized tires are used then rack inner bushings wear out even faster.

Is steering rack issue covers under warranty?

Not sure about warranty coverage, my car is already out of warranty so can't tell.
