Wagon R VXL fuel economy issue

Aoa. I have purchased new wagon R VXL in june 2020. I am facing fuel economy issue. Within city with RPM at 2 it is giving just 11 to 12 km per litre. Why milage is too low...its just friven 1400 km yet. Some 1 told me that till 5000 km it will remain same and aftr 1st tuning average will be better. Any suggestions please..

This is the best WagonR can do. I have talked to several people. WagonR averages 11-12.5 maximum.

I still need to meet anyone in person who claims WagonR can do 16+ kmpl.

The best average I got from this car is 16.4 on karachi to sukker. Beyond sukker till lahore the car didn't go beyond 12-13 kmpl

Where 1800cc CVT Corolla managed 16 kmpl.

My wagonr has done about 55,000 km strict 5000 km oil changes. Timely tunings, plugs, air pressure correction. It just doesn't go beyond 11.75 kmpl my daily drive is aproxx 100-110 kms.

Omg. Its v disappointing....i have filled the tank and 1st cell dropped at 100 km n today inly 2 cells left n total car drive is 350 km. 100 km was long drive n remaining 250 are local. Had hy wesy...the showroom owner told me that its 16 to 18 long n within city 14 to 15.

This car was a hit amongst Careem and Uber drivers for a reason - it has excellent fuel economy, even in local conditions, when driven correctly. 11-12 is not a realistic fuel economy

I had a lot of experience driving one (160k km on the odo) when I was doing my internship last year - the job involved a lot of intercity travel. It simply sips fuel if you keep rpm less than 3k on long routes. Above 110 km/h though, it gulps fuel like an 8th gen Civic (thanks to the short gearing).

As for intercity driving, if people are getting 11-12, then either they are driving in heavy traffic jams all the time, or they are doing spirited driving.

I live in Islamabad, car had 332 Km's done and reserve was on. Car took 30.33 liter upon auto refill that sums out to be almost 11 km/liter. Strange as rarely car crosses 3-3.5K rpm mark and veey less traffic. Perhaps it has to do with air con.

kept a wagon r from 7km odo reading to 30500km odo reading. Shifted to 0w20 right after 1000km service, changed tires to 177 70 r13 the very next day car was purchased, tire pressure 30psi, air cleaner used to be cleaned at every 2nd fuel refill. My daily traffic route used to be Sh e Faisal from Airport till nursery both in morning and evening traffic peak hour. Never drove it without ac. The max fuel avg it yielded was 14kmpl during winters. In summers it stayed between 12 to 13kmpl. Car is still in family and they claim it never goes above 12kmpl.

I have wagonR 2015, at start it is giving fuel average of 11 km with mix 80% ac 20% non ac. After 10000km it was increase to 12.5 to 13 on AC in city, same ratio of AC.
After 70000 km average dropped to 11.5 to 12 km, with same ratio of AC.
In last december at 93000kms, engine get chocked due to broken filter all oil spilled out and I realise after when engine get chocked.
Engine got repaired that was in winter'22.
Now during peak summer May June I was getting 12km average on AC same ratio.
But now suddenly it was decreased to 11 or even 10.5 if accurately calculated.
There is no jerking or chocking while running, smooth drive.
There is some work required in axcel and shocks. Question is could it be the reson of increase in fuel consumption???
Car has 117000 of runnig also spark plugs are not changed yet, every time mechanic told me that they are ok not need replacement.
Can anyone guide me a good mechanic in KARACHI, area NORTH Karachi or N.Nazimabad, nearby, who can atleast revert back the average to 12km....??
