The car was clocking 55,000km and it was time for CVT service. Sourced all the necessary parts which include following. In this particular CVT ,there are two transmission filters.
CVT Oil Filter Primary (Paper Element)
CVT Oil Filter Secondary (Metallic mesh type)
Pan Gasket
OEM Green2 CVT Oil
First the oil was drained through the drain bolt and then pan was removed. The original gasket had become hard due to heat and was sort of stocked hard to the pan which was removed carefully. The two magnets had very less debris attached which indicated the transmission was in quite good health. The bottom filter was removed along with its o ring and replaced with a new filter and new o ring. Access to primary filter is tricky, it required removal of some parts to reach. The oem oil is of blue-green color but turns light brown/reddish with time.
Care must be taken not to overtighten pan bolts as it can result in oil leakage and pan damage.
3.7 litres of oil was poured and the level was measured to get rough idea of oil level. Accurate dipstick level is only obtained when fluid has warmed up with engine running.

When i removed the factory gasket, there was trace of silicon in small amounts, so i did apply, but very very thin coat.

Shed some light, wat it cud be? It looked like a sealant

I used high temp sealant, no leaks, all gud

its non setting gasket sealant - have you ever used dirko compound? or permatex no.2?

its close to that, its actually a threebond product on japanese cars but cannot be used alone. I'll try to get the part number for you. It was sold in Karachi when I lived there - but later simply used hylomar for all such jobs which was also sold in Karachi. Its great stuff.

Its used to stick the gasket in place only, not to act as primary seal.

my wagonr 2012 had a metalic gasket, original one which came fitted from japan,
the mechanic at filter house said no need for changing gasket. even no need for silicone . he just put it back as is after cleaning the pan . is that ok ? @Xulfiqar

Can you tell me from where can I buy the parts you have mentioned and I hope you won't mind taking out time to respond by telling the price of individual parts as well as the CVTF oil you bought and used.
Also, did you feel any change in the drive after the CVT Oil Service.

wasalam,all of the parts were imported myself. The end result is less cvt humming noise and more smooth shifts.

how to get this round filter pictured above? also i asked my mechanic and he says there is only one filter in chamber. can u plz guide

this round filter is inside the little chamber that goes to the cooler. If its clogged - you will have poor oil flow to cooler.
