Want to know the difference between honda city engine L12A n L15A (2007)

AOA, im going to purchase honda city 2007 which is also known as chuha shape, owner swapped the engine with L15A, I want to know is it IDSI or VTEC??

Check the no. of plug wires. if 8 then dsi. if 4 then ivtec.

Must be IDSI with 8 plugs. Swapping vtec is not easy and usually L15 or L13 assembly is swapped by our mechanics.

L15 came with two technologies either idsi or vtec. For vtec being operational one needs people wiring and ecu. I doubt they have these things also swapped as it becomes hectic and costly. Plus the visual difference as already mentioned here by members is idsi has 8 plugs while vtec variant has only 4.

Just being sure that engine is swapped with original wiring and ecu either it's idsi or vtec. Otherwise be ready to face tons of problems.
