Yup its better than dial up, I know someone who is using it and she is quite satisfied with it (she was using dial up before). It will cost you around 11000+tax for the USB Modem from Warid and 600+tax monthly payment.

What Warid Telecom Pvt Ltd has offered is a SIM based Wireless Internet (GPRS/EDGE).

They are giving it thru USB device which they are selling for Rs 11000/- + tax.

Monthly internet package is Rs 500/- + tax

It is just better than your dialup internet connections.

It provides data rates from 56 up to 114 kbit/s.
** EDGE can carry data speeds up to 236.8 kbit/s for 4 timeslots (theoretical maximum is 473.6 kbit/s for 8 timeslots) in packet mode.

If you have a good handset (that is bluetooth enabled OR if you have datacable along with set). You don't need to buy that USB device for Rs 11000 + tax...

These days, you can easily get a good handset for this amount with all these features and many more..

You can always connect that with the cell phone service you are using and you will get the same speed (If your service provider is offering EDGE based internet).

To the best of my knowledge, currently WARID, TELENOR, MOBILINK, UFONE, ZONG are offering EDGE based GPRS Internet.

Both Warid and Telenor are offering broadband on usb for laoptops and desktops.....Plz help.....which is faster, as price of both is almost same....

does warid gives edge? i guess no.
I used to browse internet using nokia 5700 on pc on djuice which is edge activated and it used to connect at about 400kbps. Pretty much fast.

im using ptcl 512kbps unlimited downloading!
ghar mai router laga liya of tp link..
costed me only 2000rs

and ryte now im downloading sumthhing at 55+kbps
and on lappi with no internet wire nuthing:D

i am also using ptcl 512K! got a free shiro modem, and bought a 500rps TP link switch to give my other computers the access to net.

Giving and average of 64KB!

I got it two months ago and i have downloaded 100GB + data.

more over i just pay 839rps for it

normally i get arnd 58-59kbps
but sumtimes it reaches abv 100 too..
than gradually decreases and stables at 55-60

GSM based GPRS & EDGE can't give you more than 236.8 kbit/sec speed.
Broadband is different from GSM based GPRS & EDGE.
Dialup is not broadband.

What we need to do is to understand the above facts to clearify ourself for what we want and what we are using.

I am using WorldCall Cable Broadband Net service with 512 kbps speed & Unlimited Download
as well as
Warid GSM based GPRS / EDGE (yes, it is EDGE enabled).

can someone tell me da total cost of per month unlimited internet by connecting my cellfone to my desktop commupter and use it like DSL.... da things which u guyz r talking about.... how much it will cost me per month including everything.... wht about tarrifs of zong and telenor plz tell me da procedure also.... thnx...
