get in - start the car - dont jab the accelerator like your dada abba (grandfather) told you he did on his vauxhall, morris or VW beetle that was always out of tune and didnt want to start even if offered rishwat.
If the engine is carburettor equipped, pull out the choke, crank the engine without touching the accelerator pedal, as soon as it starts push the lever half way back for the engine to fast idle at 1200 rpm or so and drive off gently, when the engine temperature is stable push the choke back in.
in EFI its even simpler, start without touching the accelerator, as soon as the rpms shoot to fast idle, you can smoothly drive off - drive gently till the temperature registers correctly - this ensures your engine is now at good thermal operating temperature, the oil is at good temperature and the transmission oil (if auto) has warmed up.
idling it wont quite help unless you live in skardu in december.
