Water boiling in bottle - - Reason?

i went to muree / nathiagali few days ago. when i reached murree, i noticed that the water in the coolant bottle was boiling. temprature guage was at normal.

is it normal or something wrong???

yeah its normal, ur supposed to add tea bags with it

on the serious note, same thing happened with me few days back. radiator cap was not retaining the pressure and needed replacement.

Yeah it is normal, as i remember water boils at a lower temperature at higher altitudes because of low pressure.

Check the spring and rubber seal of radiator cap. There is a chance that it is not maintaining proper pressure and passing that to the bottle. If the cap is ok then i think there should be no issue and can happen sometimes.

I totally agree with asad1, i had exactly the same problem and found out it was the gaskit! changed it, then problem solved!!

Check ur Radiator and Bottle CAP it should maintain the Pressure upto some extenet and then release. Also Plz dont use AC while going Uphill.

If above is OK then check Radiator Fins and Radiator Condition if all OK then its Gaskit/Haed facing issue.

i had a same problem with my car even in the city. i replaced the cap but of no affect. then i got the radiator cleaned and AC condenser showered at service station now its ok.

No it is NOT normal at all for water to Boil in the Water Bottle or in the radiator.

You should get your car checked as soon as possible by a techically proficient shop before the problem gets more serious and causes expensive damage.

to be on the safe side , i reccoemend that u change the engine oil, just incase it is a head gasket issue.

the basic engine is the same, whether it is an alto or a Bmw and the engine design principles apply. so there should be no boiling in bmw or suzuki

radiator me bubbles arehay hai ya jo extra water ki bottle hoti hai us mey , ager extra water ki bottle mey horeha hai tu is ka mutlub hai aap ne maximum level sey zyada water bhera hua hai

kabhi bhi us bottle ko full nhe berhna chaiye , half filled honi chaiye ya us k max level tak . . .

Than you all for your vaulable comments. i will get my car checked from mechanic.

Another thing i have noticed after muree tour that the car is heating up. Radiator fan stats after every 10 min (aprrox) but surprisingly temp guage stays at normal.

i hope that the problem may be solved after cleaning of radiator or osme minor adjustments of fan speed.

Changing Gasket is a big issue. it will consume time and money.

Boiling is problem, see below expected reasons in points:

1- Head Gaskit: if it would weak then pressure would be increase in radiator. u can check ur self either gaskit is wear or not. start ur car, open radiator cap. make sure that radiator filled with water. u will observe that in few seconds some bubbles will appear in water, if appeared then head gaskit is weak and leaking pressure. Replace it.

2- Fan: Check that fan is working properly. U cannot adjust the speed of fan.

3- Radiator cap: filled radiator with water till top. Close the radiator top with pressure cap/radiator cap. there is a samll pipe going from radiator to bottle. remove that pipe from bottle and give the air pressure through ur mouth, in that way if water comes out from the pressure cap then pressure cap useless and replace it urgently.

4-Water body: Check that water body (which rotaes water into the engine and radiator) u can check this by removing pressure cap from radiator (car should be in start position) u will observe that if u will push the throttle then water will moves into the radiator.

5- Any leakage: this is very importan point. check leakage at all start and end of all pipes joinied through radiato/engine/ fan heater etc. check all clips are properly tight.
