We have Homage water dispenser and only used Nestle water with it. Recently, the water started having bad smell, so when I opened up the cover to clean the tank, I noticed quite a bit of rust in it. I called Homage and as per Pakistani standards, they denied the issue altogether and said that it'll cost 4K to install new tank. Since I'm not sure what else is rusted inside, I'm just going to get a new one.

Looks like there are only local brands of water dispensers i.e. Orient, Homage, and PEL etc that are popular. However, Nestle guy told me that Nestle has its own imported South Korean made water dispenser for 22,000. Anyone here using Nestle water dispenser?

Any other dispenser that is high quality material?

I bought it around two months back before the lockdown started. The appliances store that I visited had a variety of water-dispensers standind in a row, the quality, material used and finishing of this particular product attracted me a lot though it was 3 to 4k expensive than its competitors.

Earlier, a year ago, I checked this water-dispenser in service at a 2 weeks long training session.

The model I mentioned above has a taller design with a bigger capacity fridge at the bottom which can hold jumbo size pet bottles or you can stow a full carton of tin cans.

i have an old orient one. i opened it just for the keera of opening things up.

found minor rust, which i scraped off. no issues after that.

i cleaned it every six months.

frankly now i have stopped using it, as it had only 6 glasses of cold water capacity. bought a 23 liter fridge and fill it with water bottles. much more usefull.

why don't they just use some stainless steel

It is stainless steel as mentioned in the specs but who knows the material and its composition.
But then there exists no mechanism to check and verify what's written on the box.

Yea, in our case the rust was at the point where stainless is connected with the intake pipe at the bottom. Not sure the pipe wasn't pure stainless steel or if weld started rusting.

the corrosion occurs at the seam or welded base of the tank. in a few points. not all over.

ok, the welding can locally change the composition of the steel and shift the properties

I guess they should use a seamless tank, punched from a sheet or aluminum....

Anyone have experience with Changhong Ruba water dispenser?

Saw this at Metro, the water tank is seamless and looks stainless steel, but the drain pipe seems to have either rust or maybe its welding mark.

Any water dispenser with thermostat preferably digital one so one can set the exact temperature.

Yea homage is bad quality. We ended up getting Gree and its working fine so far.
