When engine coolant temp exceeds 125c its overheated

Usually this is shown on gauge as 85% sweep on japanese cars, you will also notice smoking of leaked oil too on engine when it overheats beyond control

Pressure in pipes is normal, radiator cap maintains that pressure to printed rating on it like a pressure cooker

What exactly was the problem and fix?
I have been running in circles for over a year now for that small invisible leak that I'm unable to track or find anything wrong. Loss is very less, about half of an expansion bottle in a month or less but coolant does not return back to radiator which is a headache.

use a pressure tester and pump up the system to 18 psi and check for leaks - these phantom leaks are never found without applying pressure.

I don't have a pressure tester, but did do a diy pressure test with a small bicycle pump by pumping from the radiator expansion pipe.
The only point that leaked was radiator cap outer seal when pressure got excessive and I pumped any further. Now I don't know exactly how much pressure was there but it was definitely more than operating conditions as hoses were rock hard and the cap outer seal isn't under operating pressure anyway. I will do it again. Should I drain all fluid when testing or not?

Do that with valve cover off and observe the welch plugs

Buy one from aliexpress, its not very expensive.

I don't think aliexpress packages are being delivered these days. My last order didn't arrive in 3 months and was refunded. Another one is pending since last month. Usually they took 3-4 weeks to arrive

Then u can look for DIY pressure tester. May be a bicycycle valve fitted over a radiator cap could help.

I'll try the diy but I was wondering whether it should be performed with coolant filled or empty? Look for coolant leaks or hear for air leaks?
