Way to lahore

Dear friends I wish to go to lahore on my new corolla with CNG (55L0 cylinder). Whether I should go via motorway or GT road. A friend told me that gT road is woth trying

according to my experince

CAR===suzuki khyber 92 cng with 55cyl

PPL===me and my friend

TIME===night around 1 o clock

comparison

DISTANCE
GT====less then 300km
Motorway======more then 400km

CNG AVILABILITY

GT=====u will find it after every 10 or 20 minutes
Motorway===atleast after 30mints or more

GT====always above 200 and mostly have 220
Motorway===u will be lucky if u get near 190 ever

MILAGE

GT====did 1 fill 235km...and second fill we were in lahore

Motorway===never got more then 140km...as pressure was low so had to refill again

WORKSHOP

GT====u can find them all around u no worries at all

Motorway====motorway can help u any time

SLEEPING ISSUE

GT====u never get bored or feel sleepy

Motorway===u need some 1 along with u to slap u after few minutes:p

SAFETY

GT====in night time u have alot of issues

Motorway===no tension at all

well i will prefer u GT road if u r going along with friends...and if u going with family batter take Motorway....

rest is yr decision..

Yaar If U Want No pain In Ur back Than Come from Motorway With 55cylinder don't worry about tha gas and the road is clear n smooth
But on Gt road its good till gujranwala after that u feel that u r driving a tractor

went like 4 months back from gt road at night

it aint that bad

dont know if something has gone wrong between these 4 months

dont ever think abt gt road .. it sucks ..... its safe either

use motorway and enjoy the drive ....

cng pressure is not that gud on motor .... but there is a solution ......

fill the cylinder in islamabad .. then goto chakri ... chakri interchange say utro and us k sath 500m pe cng station hai ... its gud .. pressure aik dam fit ... then from chakri ..seedha pindibhatian .... wahan bhi interchange say neechat sath hi hai ..... and then seedha lahore ......

i always go like that in my corolla 2001 .. 55L cylinder .... and on motr way only 2 fillups required .....chakri and pindibhatian as explaind above........
motorway pe cng fill karanay ki mistake na kerna it sucks .... pressure bohat kam hota hai ...

I'd not use the GT Road these days given the current political scenario. Follow what majorminds suggested and get to lahore without tension.

When I go to FSD on my XLi, I fill from Isl and at Bhera, I exit and refill the tank which takes me to FSD and still there is gas when I am in the city for two days.

On my return, I fill from FSD and it drives me upto Balkasar.

I have 56 kg cylinder

The point is that you can get very good pressure at CNG pumps located near the exits at Bhera, Balkasar, Chakri etc. Never fill from motorway service areas, it takes at least 30 minutes in queues, while at exits you can fill in less than 10 minutes and back on motorway.

And I would advise to take motorway. GT road just sux. It is always broken between Gujranwala and Lahore.

Just saw this one.

For people visiting later, if they want to try GT road. I would suggest going to Kala Shah Kaku (few kms after Gujranwala) and turn right for M2 (at this point probably called Lahore bypass). You will reach Thokar Niaz Baig interchange at the end of M2.

On the way back, leave Lahore very early, go into Gujranwala and have 'Murgh Chanay' ( ??? ??? ) for breakfast. You have to be really early to avoid the morning rush hour in Gujranwala.

1- Chakri Interchange on Chakri Rd Near by NewShalimar Hotel Three CNG stations.
2-Balkasssar Interchange (Talagang Rd) Four CNG Station
3-Kallar Kahar Interchange (None)
Note from Kallar Kahar to Behra No CNG station exempt on
4-Lilla Interchage (PD Khan Rd) Two CNG Stations
5-Behra Interchange ( Behra Malakwal Rd) Three CNG
6-Salam Interchange ( Bhalwal Rd) four CNG Station
7-Kot Momin Interchange ( Kot Momin Rd) Two CNG Station
8-Makhdoom Interchange (Phailia Sail Rd) Three CNG Station

The lahore to isloo motorway isn't more than 400 km, and well like autophile said you should get your gas from the exits and not on the motorway pumps/stations.

And the journey won't take more than 3-3.5 hours. Use it
