Salam,

We as a society are a cheat, a lie and do every thing possible to deceive the fellow citizen.

For around 2 weeks, i have been on a hunt to find a clean Honda Civic Vti Oriel Prosmatec 2004-2006 in islamabad.

every single car i see has a reversed meter, the reading on the meter says 75000 but the car actually says that it has been driven by humans for 3 lakh km and then the dead drove it for another 3 lakh km.

upon raising this above question to the seller i got a very confident reply sir 10 year gari chali hai lights tou fade hoti he hain and gari use hoti hai tou cheezien worn out tou hoti hain, bear in mind we are talking about a car here which was driven only 75k.

another car i got my hands on in lahore which seems to be very good, the condition of car looked very nice in the pictures and i asked my cousin to see the car for me as i live in islamabad, the overall look of what he could diagnose about the car was very positive and i was relaxed that i have finally found a car worth my hard earned 1 million rupee. (bear in mind here i was going against the standard norm in islamabad and looking for a lahore number car after failing to not finding a clean isb number car inside islamabad, as no one in my family has ever kept a car other thn isb number this lahore market was alien for me)

just before leaving for lahore from islamabad i had a thought of having this car inspected by Pakwheels CarSure guys,
everything went cool and the guys showed up at the sellers house on time and completed the inspection in around an hour and report was emailed to me.

i would like to share this report with you guys.

so the above report is of a person who was saying he is the first owner of the car, ONLY the right driving seat door repainted and thats it, the car is as good as new and there will be no flexibility in price.

after getting the car inspection report, turns out the car was completely repainted other than roof, shocks cracked, bushings gone, break oil almost empty, leaking engine, leaking power steering fluid, the boot was almost destroyed with rust, cooling system of the car completely rusted and coolant was almost never used, wiring of the car repaired and blah blah.

i am just deeply, deeply saddened and disappointed from a society we live in.

Sellers in islamabad are proudly saying car driven only 91k whereas the cars condition shows it was driven from islamabad to nigeria and back to islamabad.

Please be on the look out and ask you friends or family if they are selling a original car with no METER tampering and inbox me :')

Sadly, that is the state of affairs in all sectors of life today. We lie and cheat for a penny's profit whenever we can. Last year I went to a meter repair shop in KHI, the number of people coming upto him with their cluster?s in hand, asking him to reverse it to more than half the original mileage was surprising. I had to wait half an hour for a 5 min job just because priority was given to the meter reverse crowd (easy 5 min job that makes them big bucks).

Banks lie, retailers lie, shop keepers lie, business men lie, the sabzi wala lies, your mochi lies, a riksha/taxi wala lies, everyone lies and cheats. An honest person remains at a loss, atleast financially.

The worst part is, people nowadays are adamant to lying and cheating, they will never admit their mistakes even if they get caught.

I am sharing my experience with you as you are in search for that particular car. My elder brother bought a Civic Vti Oriel MT in 2005 june and it was with us till 2011 when my brother sold it. It was driven 2lakh+ kms when it was sold and i saw that same car in 2013 on a showroom in G-8 islamabad and i asked showroom guy he was asking 11 lakhs for it and when i asked them to start the car its odo meter was showing 80000km. My brother used to travel to lahore on that car twice in month from islamabad so it was high mileage but body wise it was 10/10, it was shock for me to see that we as humans are very big cheats and liars that for some bucks we are doing fraud.

oh my that is absolutely horrible! you should have b!@TCH slapped that guy....there should be a law against tampering of meters in pakistan.

Is there literally NOWAY to detect tampered meter? why cant we connect a OBD scanner and see the original mileage recorded in ECU?

Mileage rewinding is happening all over the world, even in Japan.

But we being Muslims are probably far ahead of the rest of the world, sadly, in not just car related frauds, but ALL types of businesses.

"yar jab li thi 17 ki thi ab aik saal khud chalayi aur do teen chezzeen dal k meter 30,000 peeche kar diya hai aur 19 ki deal hogyi hai. Maza agya." was disgusted. "cheezain" included cheap navi and alloys from his own shop.

And only mechanics with a special meter repair permits allowed to work on meters. I hope you get where this is going...

does OBD 2 scanner gets connected to Honda Civic 2005+ models? if yes does OBD scanner show actual true mileage of the car via the ECU???
