We Want To Make Ultra-Light Pakistani Cars-Help!

I and my friend are planning to build an ultra-light car, similar to the pictures displayed below. The car shown in the pictures is called Gem, being made by GE (General Electric Motors – Chrysler). The car is powered by 7hp electric motor and is available in several variations, price starting from $6,800 and goes up to $17,500.

We, on the other hand, have planned to power the vehicle with a 400cc gasoline/cng engine. The car would have 4 seats and would initially be aimed to replace Richshaws and Taxis. We have to technical expertise to build the vehicle and according to initial estimates, we can price the car at Rs. 150,000, excluding taxes, CNG and other extras that the car may have.

@Greenberet yar, we are not a giant like toyota, suzuki, honda. We have just got the idea to build such cars, because even giants like Mercedes, TATA, etc. are now concentrating on smart or ultra-light cars.

We may in future, bring its electric model, but at this stage we can not conceive the idea of building luxurious sedans ... may God help us build what you desire!

Good initiative, if the vehicle is made small in size but tough and rough, suiting the local enviroment, it will definitely stand out in local market and limited budget people can be facilitated. If you guys needed any help in Design element, I would help being a Design student.

keep in mind that the looks will matter , u have seen how the adam ended and how qq is still selling , we can get now a days a 660cc car , so 400cc will be good for taxis

Idea is sweet but brother be careful, cause Adam Revo (a complete car) failed at 2.69 lacs !

Agree to Nick & c123pk: ppl in our region like to show off. Instead for going towards Innovation they will like to stick to Millat Fan, National Iron, Rolla, CD-70/125 and United Bakery kay Nimco.

Try to go for something which is linked to the domestic car market such Parts and interior add ons - ( A brotherly advise).

@kamranAslam caught my drift. The design of the thingy in this thread is too radical to appeal to the 'mom and pop' crowd that buys things in volume.
