Weird noise from engine bay between 3000-4000 rpm

My wagon r 2017 vxl makes a very weird noise when i accelerate hard. The noise comes when car is on 2nd or 3rd gear and only for a very few seconds when i accelerate above 3000rpm and below 4000 rpm.

Mechanic described is as a "ghargarahat".

Anybody has any clue what it is?
My car is well tuned and cat converter is cleaned. No issues in pickup or anything. Just the weird sound

Mechanic suggested that it was coming from the plastic engine cover which had a broken washer. Got that fixed but it is still coming

Maybe the exhaust is loose from somewhere

i think some kind of nut or washer of some part got loosened due to which the part is making such kind of noise
it is either coming from exhaust pipe or nearby part

I got the exhausts checked. No such issue from there.
My tires are old but the noise isnt a tire one

Yes i did. Apparently the dholki was broken from inside. So the mesh inside the dholki was broken, as a result the noise came only after 3000rpm. I got it fixed and the noise went away. Acceleration, economy and noise all were better after as well. So that was the root cause

Do get the dholki checked, if thats okay then there will be a leak in the exhaust pipe. Get that checked as well.

Suzuki dealership is the most incompetent group of mechanics i have ever met, so no point in going to them.

Hey this post really saved me some money. Faced the same issue after I ran on motorway with my wagon r and reached speeds of 150km. I was pressing the car hard all along and as soon as I reached the toll plaza I heard the same sound just that it was happening at all RPMs even at idle. It sounds like metal on metal vibration and gets very annoying.
The sound increases when the muffler gets hot and is a bit quite when it's cold. This is the first time I've heard of the muffler making a sound but I guess pak Suzuki quality is known for surprising us.
Long story short I thought of changing the engine mounts but that would cost arund 20k plus for original unit I saw this post and decided to have the silencer checked.
I hope this helps anyone else out there facing the same issue

Actually the dholki was fine on the inside but somehow it was sagging more than usual like hanging very low and we had to bend the exhaust pipe a little to bring it back in place.
Secondly there is a small bracket, L shape, on the front of the engine that supports the catalytic Converter. It had broken into two peices, had that taken out, welded and then reinstalled. Again thanks to the amazing Pak Suzuki quality.

but you mentioned in your post that noise was coming from engine bay side. (front side of car) but the dholki fits at back side of car !

Facing the exact same issue of Sudden Increase in sound at exactly 3000 RPM in any gear or at any speed.(2017 Wagonr R VXL) Its like the VTEC kicking in Honda`s. Can anyone explain the exact remedy to this. Happens exactly at 3000Rpm and Vanishes at after crossing 3000Rpm.

Car: 2017 Suzuki Wagon R VXL (Was bought Brand new in 2017)

Seems like 3k rpm is when the engine vibration meets its natural frequency. If the sound is too loud then check the small bracket supporting the catalytic converter at the front of the engine. Else also have the rear dholki and exhaust pipe joint inspected. This usually breaks due to vibration over time and needs to be welded but when broken can increase vibration of the whole exhaust system.
Rest the car tends to get noisy as it ages and is used more and more. Mine has crossed 180k now so I'm expecting noises here and there
