What are exact symptoms of bad clutch and pressure plates?

I bought a mehran about a year ago which is driven by me about 12k and was with previous owner. When i bought the car in june owner said that he put new clutch and pressure plates. Now from some time my mechanic has been saying me that your clutch is bad replace it i told him that clutch is not that old it has only done maximum about 25k kms but he insists to replace. I couldn't figure it out but by searching on forums and asking from guys like Scotty Kilmer and Eric the car guy i did some tests to confirm the situation. When car is in neutral i put it into 3rd gear car stalled. Then i noticed slight decrease in performance as the car was accelerating but wasn't speeding up then when car was in 3rd gear at 30km/h i down geared 2nd gear rpms didn't increase until i depressed the accelerator properly. It goes to max 80km/h that to with hard foot. My mechanic says that previous owner might have put junk yard clutch which is commonly known as Kabli or a used clutch to sale the car, as in first 4-5 months car went perfect no problem but after some time clutch free play increased power felt to reduce and when i unpressed car in 1st gear it gives jerk like jhatka and sudden power. What could be the cause if clutch is the issue then i would surely replace it in 2-3 days. Experts @Xulfiqar @ekdrifter give your valuable suggestions. Mech suggested to put brand new Excedy Clutch and Pressure plates worth 3.7-3.8K and 1.5K for labour and 0.3-0.5K for lathe kharaid work. Give your tips and suggestions also while getting it replaced.

Get the It replaced i think only Pressure plate can be the cause ..lets see what other fellow Pakwheelers say ?

Engine revs but speed remains same means Slip. It is indeed weak clutch but that jhatka means it is grinding(forgot actual term sorry) as well. So yea change it... Generally pressure plate id changed along with clutch plate

maybe ur driving style has worn out the clutch
some people rest the foot on clutch while driving
usually cluth plate/pressure plate/thrust bearing, all 3 are changed

if the car is not doing a wheel spin in 1st gear, clutch is weak and gone/car gaining rpm and not picking speed is another indication though

Mehran clutch is cheap. Replace it with original and get rid of tension.

Just got it replaced bought Excedy clutch and pressure plates for 3700rs and NSK japanese baring for 1200rs although chinese one was for 350rs. 300rs for lathe work and 1500rs for labour. Now what precautions should i take while driving it. Clutch that came out was also excedy but it was 70% worn and pressure plates were also 80-90% worn with bad baring. This car had very bad parts, they aren't that good quality i also have corolla 2007 its OEM clutch lasted for 120K km and these hardly do 40k-45k. I think excedy is the best available clutch for OEM replacement.

btw u drive it normal but if u smell clutch burning on inclines then take it again to mech
and get it adjusted

Brother drive is better as jerks have been reduced the gear goes easily clutch needs bit adjustment as my mech said drive it for 2 days then he will adjust it and no burning type smell thing or something like that but i think its better then before. What is the life of these clutch's in normal city driving?

be it a mehran or a AMG Mercedes never trust yard parts specially for power train. You made wise choice to buy brand new items, if convenient also check for transmission fluid (oil) and change it (NO flushing) if not too much on pocket. It will improve the handling and fuel efficiency to mark.

I have a Corolla GLI 2010, 101k KMs drivern mostly on motorway and Islamabad. For the past 2-3 months the car vibrates in the morning when accelerates in 1st gear. Secondly, the fuel consumption has increased a lot too. Is this clutch issue?
