What car to buy in 1 million to take to Gilgit from islamabad

I have a budget of 10 to 12 lacs max. i need a car which i can take to Gilgit from Islamabad with my friends. we most probably need a sedan due to all the camping gear we will be carrying with us. With current prices in mind, please suggest me a car which i should buy keeping the trip in mind. Ofcourse after the trip, i will be using the car on daily basis.
Also, suggest any equipment or spare parts i should i carry with me for the trip for extra reliability.
i have travelled to gilgit once on my civic 98 from islamabad and it has been flawless. went and came back with no issues. the journey was very tough due to high water flow in july but my civic never disappoints. but the car is not in very good mechanical condition now so cannot take it. therefore, i am willing to buy a new car for the trip and daily routine.

If the civic 98 is still in your use then you can bring it to top notch mechanical condition in a lot less money than 1 million.
The advantages of this is that you know the mechanical history of the vehcile and the exact faults and you know the requirements.
In the budget that you have mentioned honestly, you would end up buying a car that's probably in the same condition as your civic.

buying a used sedan for purpose of touring only, is not feasible. That vehicle may need heavy maintenance for such a long excursion. Instead @bonberrypk i'd recommend a rental land cruiser for your round trip with driver, from RWP to upnorth as far as khunjarab post. It will cost you less then 30% of 1.2 million, and hassle free with fuel & driver.

no no that is not the point. i need to buy a second car anyways other than that civic. i was thinking why not buy a car that i can use daily reliably and take it to Gilgit as well.
