Officially Petromin Ultra 7 does not come in a 5L can in PK, only fleetmaster LD (premium diesel oil) does. Most likely this is smuggled afghani oil. Petromin Ultra 7 only comes in a 4 litre plastic container (eventually will be available in a 20L pail and 208L drum) and the 4L container costs 1400rs (recommended retail price).
They may advise 10000km but honestly our air filters are useless (they can't filter less than 20 microns) so increasing the duration between changes allows particles smaller than 20 microns to combine with ANY oil and start causing damage.
the Total base number (TBN) of the oil is good enought to last the duration of 10000km, but that only keeps the acid value of the oil stable.
in pakistan, regardless of what oil you use you MUST change your oil after 5000-6000km unless you are running an air filter which can clean down to 5 microns (like a foam air filter) & are running a high capacity/high flow oil filter (agian which can filter the smallest particles). otherwise all you are doing is living in denial if you think the oil is going to be of any use after 6000km.
Our current (stock) air and oil filters are just not up to spec for us to believe that we can go to such long intervals between oil changes.
*Disclaimer - in other countries where the dirt particulates are not smaller than 20 microns the lab tests will be different. but in the middle east and africa sadly, the airborne dirt particles are smaller.
