Since I?ve bought my Passo, I have gone through a deep study of the Oils recently.
Here are the very perfect details according to my 1000CC Passo which has 99% same Engine like Vitz & Belta.
TRANSMISSION OIL
Only only & only use the below ?Transmission? oil. Do not use any else. Otherwise it may harm the transmission system.
Vitz, Passo & Belta, all three cars have Super CVT system (Continuous Variable Transmission). Hence the recommended Oil is
TOYOTA CVT FLUID TC, 4L
CATEGORY: TRANSMISSION FLUID.
PRODUCT NAME: TOYOTA CVT FLUID TC
PART NO: 08886-02105
TYPE: FULLY-SYNTHETIC
MANUFACTURER: EXXON MOBIL JAPAN
VOLUME: 4L
DESCRIPTION: TOYOTA GENUINE CONTINUOUSLY VARIAVLE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THIS FLUID IS USED IN VEHICLES WITH TOYOTA SUPER CVT.
Its new price is Rs. 4,700/- for 4L. It comes in the steel box. So pay a close attention to the code 08886-02105.
There are v. similar code available in the market 08886-02103 (the digit 3 at the end), but this oil has different characteristics. So pay close attention when buying the correct oil.
Limit to change this transmission oil is 40,000 KM. But even after 40,000 KM if its color (which is originally red) has not changed much, then you can use it till 50,000 KM.
But use only 3.5L and keep 0.5L with you incase of later use.
ENGINE OIL
Many people use ?Toyot?s oil. But there is a very simple truth, that, TOYOTA DO NOT HAVE THEIR OWN OIL FACTORY. They just buy it from other companies and put their own seals on it. So never use Toyota?s oil.
Somebody here recommended ?Mobil-1?. This is perhaps best engine oil. But but but, original Mobil-1 is absolutely not available in Pakistan anymore now. Few years back original mobil-1 (Made in usa) was available in Pak., but then a local company has its distribution. And now there are many small distributors sitting over in Karachi who are packing Caltex or Shell?s oil into Mobil-1 boxes. So never believe on this oil any more.
Shell, Caltex, Castrol, Toyota, etc. all are being re-packed in Pak. And we can?t believe the Quality of these oils any more. FYR, I used to use Toyota?s Petron, Zic?s OW, even Toyota?s 10-30, Sinopec, Zippex, etc. etc. but believe me, all these oils are full of **** and Engine?s performance is not perfect as it has to be.
These days there is a new company in Pak. trying to make its position in other oil companies. Its called ?Performa?. Produced by PTT (Petroleum Authority of Kingdom of Thailand). Yet PERFORMA don?t have re-packing in Pakistan. Its new and hence distributers are supplying original oil in market.
They only have 4 types of Engine oils as follows
Performa 20/50 Partially Synthetic ~ Rs. 1800 Change after every 3000 miles.
Performa 10/30 Semi Synthetic ~ Rs. 2500 Change after every 4000 miles.
Performa 5/40 Synthetic ~ Rs. 3000 Change after every 6000~7000 miles.
Performa 0/40 Super Synthetic ~ Rs. 3700 Change after every 7000~8000 miles.
As you said that your Car ran only 26,000 KM. So I?ll suggest you use their ?Super Synthetic Oil? which 0/40. Its best for ?New Cars?.
When car ran 30~40,000 km, then start using 5/40. I am using it now. And really enjoying the smooth drive. Good mileage, excellent engine health, good start, everything perfect.
When car ran over 90,000 km, then you can use 20/50.
Remember, Vitz, Passo & Belta?s engines are based on Euro based & Fully Synthetic technology. So do not use ?thicker oils?. Use Super Synthetic or Fully Synthetic oils only.
Just for your reference, here is the list of oils with respect to best performance & technology. I got this ranking from ?RedLine?s? website.
FYR, RedLine is considered The Best Oil company for Cars in USA and it in direct competition with Mobil-1 (just like Apple & Samsung these days). But in Pakistan, majority knows Mobil-1 and there are very few people (like me) who knows that Redline is even better than Mobil-1.
