What is a/c and econ for

yar in air conditioning system there are two buttons in most of the cars one is econ and second one is a/c when are they used what are thier functions.~~~NOTE~~~

AC= for Continuous run..the ac wont stop
Economy= as the name says..its an intermittent run..means the ac starts n stops after regular intervals

I had a 1992 Maxima in the US. The car had automatic climate control. The AC button had to be depressed if you wanted the system to use the AC to meet the desired temperature.

If you wanted to forbid the system from using the airconditioner, you had to press the ECON button.

Of course, if it were too hit outstide, the system would fail to meet the desired temperature while the ECON button was pressed.

In my corolla, a/c temp control setup with fan speed, at max fan blast a/c wont trip. at slow fan a/c trips,, where as there is econo a/c switch with a/c timed as half.. means at econo a/c does trip quicker especially when i get the car into race mode.

thanks!!! and there is another option to regulate the speed of a/c blower e.g auto,low,med and hi.. what is this auto for and do u recomend this for use. i suggest it means that it auto... regulates the speed of the blower. ist it

auto doesnt just regulate the air but it also switches between inside n outside airflow plus it sometimes shutoff the AC aswell(if the desired temp is reached) depending on the temp u have set..atleast in an LC it works like that..plus change oil after 5000km..thats it

oopss.. sorry...i thought u were talking abt engine oil..for transmission oil consult ur car's user manual

yaar the problem is that i dont have user manual
.its been 2 years that we have this car and driving at first the performance of the gearbox were very good if u wud press th throtle bit more the car would shift down at once and run like a beast but now it delays gear shifts and also sometimes doesnot shift down when throltle is prssed hardly.somebody has recommended me to chane the gearoil

yes u should asap..if i'm not wrong i think after 30000km one should change transmission oil..but changing early wont do any harm so its better to change after 20000km or so...similar problem can arise as urs if not changed in a while.

rare one: i thought we were about car a/c econo button.. anyways,, auto transmission depends on driving condition,,, anywhere from 40k in worst condition to 70k normal ...

The econ button switches off the compressor in the a/c system period, unless your driving a top end model car when the transmission on my A8 kicks down and I want to boot it a a little it shuts off the compressor so that you can free up more power from the engine.
